In Chicago, when the Hungarian says her little spiel in Cell Block Tango I can follow only a little bit. I want to know if what she says actually makes sense in whatever language she is speaking in, I bet its Russian, and if it makes sense what she says. I know she was the only actual innocent one on death row in the musical from what I could tell but I've always wanted to ask because I wannna know what she says.
It's in Hungarian. Some translations vary on certain words, but here is one translation.
"Mit keresek én itt? Azt mondják, a híres lakóm lefogta a férjem, én meg lecsaptam a fejét. De nem igaz. Én ártatlan vagyok. Nem tudom, miért mondja Uncle Sam, hogy én tettem. Próbáltam a rendõrségen megmagyarázni, de nem értették meg."
"What am I doing here? They say my famous tenant held down my husband and I chopped his head off. But it's not true. I am innocent. I don't know why Uncle Sam says I did it. I tried to explain at the police station but they didn't understand."
Haha well its related to russian:) but thankyou
I'm not so sure that the "famous tenant" portion of the translation I found makes much sense, but I think the rest of it is pretty on the mark. Maybe some of the major Chicago fans around here can clarify.
