Has anyone seen this yet and having anything to report about it? I am thinking about getting tickets to it but wanted to here other people's thoughts first!

I haven't seen the current production in NYC, but I saw a regional production last year and found the play to be charming and funny. I'd definitely recommend it.

It's very sweet. I'm actually producing it in the spring. It is the most performed play in the county. (This may be just at high schools, however, I don't remember.) It's not life changing in any way, just a lovely and amusing way to spend the evening.

The first run in NY failed, critically and financially. The playwright is involved in this production (I know someone that knows him.) and is very excited about it coming back to the city.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Jack Cummings is a brilliant and under-rated director and if anyone can make this material work, he can, but seriously? Transport gave up one of their season slots to this insipid Hallmark Channel dreck? I don't get it.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it dreck....but I do refer to it as the chick flick of plays. The individual stories are sweet, funny and touching.

They're like O.Henry short stories in form, with their surprise twist endings, but not as clever.
