I was recently going over in my mind the films with Roz Russell and I remembered The Trouble With Angels.
I wonder why this was never made into a Broadway musical? Obviously Nunsense and Sister Act have covered some of that territory, but I think there's enough material in this movie to musicalize it. The scene with Gypsy Rose Lee is definitely calling for a song.

One of my all-time favorite Sunday afternoon movies.
So funny, but I also found it really moving. Sister Ligouri's (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!) death just did me in every time.

And an excellent ballad in the making for the actress who plays the Roz Russell role. A "No One Is Alone" type ballad or a maybe a song where Mary comes to the realization that (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!) she could possibly be a nun.

He used the music from Trouble with Angels which brought the film back to me after many years. What a welcome memory! Thanks to Charles Busch, I'd like to see this new show, but I'm sure it'd probably be a bit more 'wholesome', lol!
