I was recently going over in my mind the films with Roz Russell and I remembered The Trouble With Angels.

I wonder why this was never made into a Broadway musical? Obviously Nunsense and Sister Act have covered some of that territory, but I think there's enough material in this movie to musicalize it. The scene with Gypsy Rose Lee is definitely calling for a song.

The most scathingly brilliant idea.

One of my all-time favorite Sunday afternoon movies.

So funny, but I also found it really moving. Sister Ligouri's (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!) death just did me in every time.

Could they sing Boyce & Hart's "Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows"?

When they say "They don't make'em like that any more," they are referring to films like these.

I had such a crush on Hailey Mills, and still love watching her as she has matured. Maybe she could do the Rosalind Russell role.

"So funny, but I also found it really moving. Sister Ligouri's (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!) death just did me in every time."

And an excellent ballad in the making for the actress who plays the Roz Russell role. A "No One Is Alone" type ballad or a maybe a song where Mary comes to the realization that (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!) she could possibly be a nun.

And a song where Reverend Mother imagines the life she might have had in Paris as a couturier.

Marvel-Ann has to have a big revenge number ala "Just You Wait Henry Higgins"

How did I miss this thread? Love, love, love this movie...and turning it into a musical is inspired. Someone should really take a crack at it.

I think Victoria Clark would be good as Mother Superior.

Too bad this wasn't done in the 1980s. I think Danielle Ferland would have made a great Marvel-Ann.

Loved the recent Charles Busch spoof, The Divine Sister, which was utterly hilarious. He used the music from Trouble with Angels which brought the film back to me after many years. What a welcome memory! Thanks to Charles Busch, I'd like to see this new show, but I'm sure it'd probably be a bit more 'wholesome', lol!
