We want to go early and wait in line and hope to be one of the first in line. But how long does it take to distribute the tickets starting at 1PM? The reason I ask, we have tickets for a 3PM show. (Sunday).

Not long at all. They're very efficient. They get everyone standing up and ready to go at 12:45 so they can zip through the line right at 1. Your matinee should be no problem!
As long as you are near the front you should have no problem at all. We were about 20th in line last summer for Hair and were OUT of the park by 1:15 - 1:20.
Note: they give out the handicap/elderly line first. Also: they did NOT start immediately at 1.
You'll be fine. I got tickets last Wednesday and was able to make it to midtown for the 2PM matinee of August: Osage County with time to spare.

Thanks to those who responded. I appreciate the help and the peace of mind that we should have no problem to make our show. I just hope the weather is good so we don't get soaked waiting in line for about 7 hours!!!! Sounds like it is really worth it though!! To AC126748, just curious, what time did you arrive last Wednesday to get in line for tickets? Thanks.
