I've read that Cynthia Nixon is great at the Stage Door for photos & autographs. What about Tyne Daly? I am seeing the show Wednesday night. Thanks for any information.
it seems she is nice too. Cynthia kinda wants to go home quick after the show, i think she takes the subway. I would be so star struck if i take the subway and i see her next to me! i took the subway with Dennis O'Hare after Sweet Charity one night, hehe.

Why do you say "usually"? Are there times when she won't sign?
Thanks.
I had the opposite experience when I saw "Rabbit Hole." Ms. Daly seemed to be in a hurry, while Ms. Nixon signed my playbill and posed for a picture.

I went very early in previews, and Cynthia was gracious and very nice. Tyne was in a hurry to go out to dinner with friends. She wasn't rude, but you could tell she wanted to get going.

How is John Slattery with the fans?
How dare they have social obligations other than talking to strangers at the stage door? I am not longer a fan of Nixon or Daly.
John Gallagher, Jr. is an absolute doll, as is Mary Catherine Garrison.

I was the one who posted this message initially. The reason for my posting was only so I would know whether to bring the Rabbit Hole windowcard to the theatre to be autographed. I know they are under no obligation to do so, though it is "nice". If they didn't sign, then I wouldn't bring the "card" with me.

How crowded is it at the stage door? Is there a barricade? Leaving Wednesday morning and looking forward to it!

I'm really looking forward to seeing this play too! We'll be seeing it this Saturday.
It wasn't really crowded when I was there (3 Friday ago), there were only 3 of us there, with no barricade (across the street at Odd Couple was an entirely different story!!!) And everyone was really nice.
I was there Sunday afternoon. The stage door was not crowded at all. Cynthia signs and poses and is very nice, but she does try to get out of there quickly, and when I was there, she tried to get a cab, but couldn't. Tyne had her family there that day so I did not bother her with an autograph or picture. I just told her that she did a wonderful job, and she thanked me, but also left quickly.
I saw it previews and everyone was very gracious and signed. Tyne was extremely generous with her time and even indulged some old ladies who were complaining to her about Judging Amy being canceled...oy.

I got to meet John Slattery when we were in New York on Saturday, March 18 to see the play. I made a collage of pictures from the play and other things related to it and he was so appreciative to receive it!!
He was so incredibly friendly and so funny!! And he was more than willing to take pictures with me before and after the play. He told me to meet him by the stage door after the play so I could get him to sign my things. And when he came out he said hi and remembered my name. He was so incredibly sweet and really touched that we drove up from Ohio for the weekend just to see him in the play for that day! Great Actor and Great Man!!!
As we were walkingt to the theater before the play I also saw Tyne Daly go into the stage door. After the play while I was waiting for John, Mary Catherine Garrison came out and signed someone's playbill and before she walked away I said "Great job Mary!" and she turned around and had a big smile on her face and said "Thank you so much!!" She was really sweet! :)
I was also there on Saturday. John Slattery and Mary Catherine Garrison were the only ones who signed after the matinee. Tyne stuck her head out to look for some friends but went right back in and Cynthia jetted right out the door on her cell phone without signing. So I guess it's just the luck of the draw.
What would I know John Slattery from?
I'm surprised that Cynthia Nixon doesn't get a car supplied.

None of them have cars.
Cynthia is the typical New Yorker. She doesn't consider herself doing anything more than a job. Her kids are NYC Public School students. I give her a lot of credit.

John has been in...
Ed, Will & Grace as Sam Truman, SATC as Bill Kelley, The Station Agent, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, Bad Company, Mona Lisa Smile, Jack & Bobby, The Brooke Ellison Story... And the list goes on. :)
I guess I was lucky -- I went to this week's Wednesday matinee and all 5 performers came out and signed for everyone. There were probably about 15 or 20 people there, so it was a little crowded, but all the performers (and all the audience members) were very polite and friendly and nice.
