Hey guys I thought it would be intersting to here everyone's take on what they think will be the big shows this season. So far the ones I know that are opening are:

THE COLOR PURPLE
TARZAN
SWEENEY TODD (revival)
THE WEDDING SINGER
LENNON
A TALE OF TWO CITIES
THE WOMAN IN WHITE

I think ACL is next season...

Don't forget the Bob Dylan/Twyla Tharp musical (still untitled, I believe). Michael Arden is in it, so it has at least one bright spot!

Also, you forgot LESTAT.

I think The Color Purple is going to be a hit. Personally, I'm looking foward to Sweeney Todd and a Chorus Line ( I know I know, 2006-2007 Season)

And of course don't forget about Princesses! Whenever that gets to Broadway, I think it's going to be HUGE. Brent Barrett!!!

I don't quite understand how they will pull off Tarzan, because they seemed to be very unorganized.

I am hoping Woman in White will have Michael Ball, and I'm interested in Sweeney Todd's revival.

Only 3 Penny, Sweeny, and Lennon sound exciting to me. I'm not getting a great vibe from the rest of the shows. I don't know how this season will fare.

Hopefully the funding will come through for "Jerry Springer: The Opera". I heard an interview recently with David Bedella, and he said he was under contract to play The Warm-Up Man/Satan in the US production should there be one.

I think Jerry Springer has the potential to be a colossal flop here. I don't think enough producers are insane enough to fund a Broadway run, and if they are I would be absolutely shocked if it were a commercial success.

I think Jerry would work well in a non-profit setting (ie Lincoln Center) or at one of the smaller Broadway houses (Circle in the Square).

I don't care for ALW. But Lestat sounds interesting. And as for Tarzan. I don't know where I stand there. I didn't really like the movie. I thought it was weak. But we'll see about the show.

Jersey Boys was GREAT at The La Jolla Playhouse.

ACL will likely be all unknowns/veteran chorus dancers who aren't names (with the possible exception of Cassie).

Besides, it doesn't start until NEXT season (2006-2007)

I, personally, am really looking forward to TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA, which is playing the park, but is a major revival nonetheless.
