"The Ryan Murphy-Ali Adler’s single-camera comedy pilot The New Normal...received series orders from NBC. Co-written by Murphy and Adler and directed by Murphy, The New Normal is described as a heartwarming comedy about a blended family of a gay couple, Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha), and a cash-strapped waitress and mother of one Goldie (Georgia King), who becomes a surrogate to help them have a child. The New Normal also has been eyed for an early launch after the Olympics in August."
Note that last sentence - an August start means he'll be gone pretty quick. Congrats to him!
2ND UPDATE: ‘New Normal’, ‘Revolution’ & ‘Save Me’ Picked Up To Series At NBC
Josh Gad's pilot 1600 PENN is also about to receive a series order, coincidentally also on NBC.
EDIT: Pardon my grammatical faux pas.

A big congrats to Mr. Rannells. I hope this is one Mr. Murphy's more consistent shows.
Ironic?
Seems like this show has been in the works for some time. Is Sean Hayes still a producer?
I think the thing here is that the word ironic was used incorrectly in a sentence. The meaning was never in question.

Congrats Andrew...but I'll miss you in "Mormon." Have tickets for August 4.

Is that him in the picture? (I can't tell....weird)
Not a surprise, but we can officially say bye bye to Josh Gad.

love Josh but sad he is doing a show with Jenna Elfman....I boycott all her work ever since she said "AIDS is a state of mind, and not a disease" and can be cured by scientology. Hope they replace her for the fall.
I can't wait to find out who the new Price and Cunningham are. Congrats to Andrew and Josh!

I think 1600 is going to be at midseason, if so that doesn't necessarily mean they will both be out at the same time.
I fully support this idea: https://twitter.com/#!/AndrewRannells/status/199920682379902977
that's amazing fortune for one show! jesus is all over that production

The late summer, maybe? I wonder how many times they'll be absent for advanced press, though.

I'm seeing it in two weeks, so I'm guessing they should still be there for it.
