That actually looked good....except for that tiny part where he screwed up the lyrics during "three-ring circus..."

He looks like he's doing a really good job with the dancing. And what little singing he did do sounded good. This could be really exciting.

Thanks for that link! It almost makes me want to go see him...hopefully I will be able to hold off until the 10th Anniversary!
I never doubted that he would be able to pull it off.
How long is he supposed to be in this because I may want to scrounge up some money to see him.

Cool
I'll admit it, I love Usher.
His dancing seems very natural. He will be great, I bumped into him at a deli once, and even though he looks tall, he was barely taller than me, I'd say 5'8'
I see real potential here, and I think he's going to knock them dead.

I thought he was only in it until October 1st. Did he extend?
maybe he cud be one great stunt casting who'll charm us all dead!
That vid looks convincingly great and makes me wanna see him! Bring him to Ldn!

I haven't made up my mind yet how I feel about him, but looks like he's impressing people, so this 'stunt casting' might actually work.

I knew it was going to be awesome when i first heard about him in the role. this is the stunt casting that's good. when you get a big name that can rake in the money, but it's a big name with talent. usher is a true performer. while i've never been a fan of his music i've always respected him as a performer. he sings and dances his ass off every show. so broadway is the right progression for him.
my only problem is that i believe he is to young to play the role

Hmmm I think I may have to check Chicago out again. I saw it a couple years back and enjoyed it thoroughly. Usher is a terrific dancer and I'm sure he'll wow the crowd with his Billy. Maybe he'll spark the interest of those who aren't into theatre to come see the show.
Matthewjames- I have the same opinion. I think Usher will be great, but he is (at least to me) too young to play Billy.
It looks so natural to him. Very impressed.

I don't like him. I think he's wrong for the part. His voice doesn't sound mature enough. His dancing was fine.
A little note to the musical director and stage manager-
John Kander wrote a great score. Don't let performers like Lilias White and Usher riff and improvise their way through it. I've enjoyed Ms. White's previous work, but I found her performance of "When You're Good to Mama" Saturday afternoon a little much towards the end.
I feel like he is just there nothing spectacular but nothing to hate.
The Megan Mullally clip was sway more intresting.
i can't stand him. i'm waiting to hear them say they're letting him strip during "All I Care About." His ego wouldn't let him keep his shirt on for the full show.

Now why didn't they cast Usher in the revival of "The Wiz?" THAT would be good casting!
