How long can they hold out with the competition from the Cate Blanhcett production coming with the Lincoln Center Theater Festival.

I think they may only be extending into August. Considering Merritt Wever's commitment to NURSE JACKIE and Michael Shannon's commitment to both BOARDWALK EMPIRE and outside film projects, anything beyond that would seem next to impossible.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

The production has been extended until August 26.

GRACE is set to begin performances on September 14. I wonder if Shannon is leaving, or if he'll be pulling double-duty with rehearsals and performances.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I saw the Blanhcett Vanya in DC....different animal. That said, loved it and can't wait to see it again this summer.

(We) New Yorkers are just too fortunate sometimes: two great overlapping Chekovs.

Has anyone done the 99 cent Sunday or regular student rush? Normally I'd just guesstimate on arrival time, etc., but I have a friend coming in town and would love to be able to have more concrete plans on when to get there, how often they sell student rush tickets, and so on. Thanks!

The people at the front of the line said they arrived at 11:30 am. I was the second to last person to get in (there are only 70 seats) and I arrived at 1:40 pm. The line was all the way down the block and around the corner. People were still showing up at 6:30 thinking they would get in. I would say the majority of the line showed up around 3 pm.

Take a blanket and a cooler and chill all day. You can check the cooler at coat check. It's well worth waiting all day to see the show.

Thanks so much, this is really helpful! I take it you're talking about the 99 cent Sunday?
