Hey all -
So, today I took it upon myself to toss all of my understudy slips out. They weren't helping my PLAYBILL binders any, and many of them were 'folded-over' in the corners, and for someone like me (a young Felix Unger when it comes to B'way goodies), that's a "no, no". So, I'm kinda miffed and all, but at the same time, I'm hoping I'm not alone. I'm on my 4th PLAYBILL binder, and having the big slips of paper pertrude out -- Didnt' work for my taste. I KNOW it's a silly thread, but yeah, I'm looking for reassurance ... As for the rest of you, pity me. LoL Thank you kindly for all opinions.
Best,
- Mike

I'm just surprised you've gotten slips that were bigger than the playbills. The ones I always get are small ~ less than half a page.
The only ones I have were like, Disney-ified, and others just ... didn't stay inside the PLAYBILL itself. It was to the point where every time I'd show them off, I would have to continue to maneuver the slips back into the binding.

Yankee, my friend, I thank you for the reassurance.
Ah, gotcha. :)

I really do use them as scratch paper. I secretly grab a stack whenever I go to a closing night from whereever they hide the Playbills. I'm still using Drowsy Chaperone.

I do the same thing Yankee fan! I've got a huge stack from DRS as well as Jersey Boys. I'll have scratch paper for years to come!
I keep them for archival purposes...I like to remember what understudies I saw, and would never be able to do that if I didn't keep the slips.
i put a paper clip on the ticket and slip and clip it to my playbill and it's organized..i'm on my 4th binder and don't have a problem.

I apologize if this is a silly question but, can someone enlighten me by telling me what this "Playbill binder" is?
Where do you get it? How much is it? How many playbills does it hold?
Thank you.

I save all my understudy slips. I really wish I had written the dates on them, but too late now. I keep them (and my tickets) in a shoe box.

Thank you my dear Fromage.
I usually put the rod that holds the Playbills in the binder in the center-most page of the binder, and fold the understudy slips underneath the binder...I've never noticed them sticking out of the binder, unless it's a full sized sheet (like they use at the Disney shows with alternating kids' casts).
Do they really take up that much more space?
I always keep understudy slips in their respective Playbills.
Ones I have worth noting:
Sarah Jessica Parker (July) in ANNIE understudying Annie (before she was promoted to the role).
Laura Bell Bundy as Glinda in WICKED.

I only keep understudy slips from performances I went to specifically see an understudy...Megan Lewis as Young Little Edie, Haviland Stillwell as Fantine, Maurice Murphy as Mitch Mahoney/Chip Tolentino.
