Okay gang. I need any suggestions you may have for a musical theatre duet (for male/female). The song should be upbeat in message but doesn't have to be uptempo in meter.
Any thoughts?

You're the Top from Anything Goes
Come up to my Place from On the Town
Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better from Annie Get Your Gun
You could try "Take Me or Leave Me".
Sort of fidget with the lyrics.

I'll Cover You from Rent can easily be done with male/female.
Rent's "Another Day"
"Book Report" from YAGMCB..it's more than a duet, but maybe it could work?

Oh, as long as I'm thinking of Anything Goes, "Friendship" is definitely upbeat.
it takes two from hairspray... its not realllly upbeat but it could work
I Don't Need Anything But You (Annie)
Easy Street could also be done by 2 rather than 3.

"Its Now or Never"- All Shook Up.
"Without Love"- Hairspray.
"It Takes Two" from Into the Woods
"Carried Away" from On the Town- kind of hokey but cute
"There Once Was a Man" from Pajama Game- lots of fun, very fast
"It's De-Lovely" from some Porter show and often put in Anything Goes, sometimes as a duet- because the world is less upbeat without Cole Porter
"He and She" from THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE
"I Wish I Were in Love Again" from BABES IN ARMS
"Big 'D'" from THE MOST HAPPY FELLA
"All 'er Nothin'" from OKLAHOMA!
oooh! Suddenly Seymour would be so good!
jera
"How Could You Belive Me When I Said I Loved You When You Know I've Been A Liar All My Life" from the motion picture
"Royal Wedding" is excellent- I did it for a concert a few years back
What initially sprang to my mind was "Friendship" or "You're the Top" from Anything Goes. I see it's been suggested though.
Green green dress from Tick, tick.. boom! (strong tenor and alto)
You're the top from anything goes
Ah! sweet mystery of live/ I'm falling in love with someone from
