So I assume the Stephen Bogardus and Michael McGrath casting must also be taken with a grain of salt...Oh well, let's keep waiting.

Michael Bennett- Where did you find this information?

I like the rumoured cast but was hoping for stronger men for Ben and Buddy.

Stephen Bogardus is a excellent choice. Just hoping for a better Buddy, but I'm sure Michael will be fine.

I agree with you, jewishboy... I think Stephen would make a fantastic Ben. :)

Someone said this on All That Chat and it really sparked my interest. How about Peter Gallagher as Ben? I don't know if he's stuffy enough. He seems to play very freewheeling characters (Sky Masterson, Joey Evans, Sandy Cohen). Maybe as Buddy?

I bet Judy Davis would be incredible as Phyllis.

I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Does Peter Gallagher have the range to sing Ben? I liked the idea of Stephen Bogardus although the other choices suggested on the board did sound a bit more appealing.
McGrath does seem a bit lackluster in my opinion.

What about Scott Bakula?

Gallagher does have the range to sing Ben. At least, from hearing him in Guys and Dolls and Pal Joey, he does. Thinking about it now, he could be better than I said before.

The more I think about it the more Gallagher and Murphy would make a great team for this concert. Doubt it will happen though.

What do you guys think they are going to do for the book? Will they used a revised version of the book? The original book? Or barely any book, mostly musics, and little plot like the 85 concert?
I would want more than anything for them to use the book from the original production, no matter how flawed it is.
I know the book has gone through A LOT over the years. Do they usually keep Sally's short monologue in the prologue? Did they use that in the 01 revival?

Another person I could see as Phyllis would be Marg Helgenberger. She has a pretty good voice.

I don't think they used it in the revival, but I could be wrong.
Let's hope they'll do the original book.

I have a question about tickets. I've never been to an Encores! concert, how fast do they sell out? I want to buy tickets if Murphy is cast as Phyllis and the rest of the cast turns out to be interesting, but I don't want them to sell out by the time full cast is announced. Also, what mid-range tickets are better to buy?
