Oh, thank God... I'm not completely crazy!
With the exception of regional accents, I felt like I was listening to a complete "homage" to Guettel (even to the point of using vocal syllables [vocalise] in place of actual lyrics, which is a trademark of Guettel).
I love Guettel's scores, so I'm very happy with Dogfight. I appreciate that score in the same way I like Triumph of Love for sounding so much like Sondheim.

Closer Than Ever is being released on June 11 according to Amazon. I'm pretty excited about that one!

Also how much is it at the theatre? It's only going to be $8.99 on Amazon.
The cast recording for Murder Ballad was selling for $25 at the theater.
