My dream cast, but I can be swayed.

Lockstock: Nathan Lane or Jeff McCarthy
Barrel: Patton Oswalt
Bobby: I like the Andrew Rannells suggestion, good one. Or Wesley Taylor
Hope: I like the Laura Osnes suggestion.
Cladwell: Michael McGrath
Pennywise: Faith Prince
Mr. Strong: Joel Grey

ETA: I forgot Little Sally. Brittany Ross. No, you don't know her. She did a national tour of Spelling Bee. I think she'd be great... And you need to give a new kid a break every now and then.

I've had the pleasure of working on a production of this show which opens tomorrow.  Urinetown Revival?

Would love to see a Broadway revival!

(did it recoup? Tour?)

Yes and Yes.  And the role of Lockstock is more of a spotlight role for a character actor than you seem to recall.  Tom Hewitt played the role on tour.  Reviving this musical seems no more odd than reviving something like Follie or She Loves Me.  In fact, I would love to see the London production on Broadway.  The biggest hurdle for a revival of Urinetown will be a production that is equal to or better than the staging and direction of the original, which was perfection.

And no for Janney or Gasteyer as Miss Pennywise.  They don't have the vocal power required for Privilege to Pee.

Janney certainly doesn't, but Gasteyer is a very strong singer.

Gasteyer played Elphaba on Broadway (and I believe in Chicago) and also has done Fanny Brice regionally. I can't imagine she couldn't handle Pennywise.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
