Posted: 6/17/08 at 11:20pmI couldn't help but notice the video clips from the shows nominated during the Tony telecast. They obviously were professionally made. I know they are not available for sale - but who makes them - and are they ever made available after the show closes?

Posted: 6/17/08 at 11:43pmMade for press packages for advertising. Some people always think they're from a full recording of the show. They are not. I assume media companies make them.
Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).

Exactly -- and these Press Reels are only short selected scenes from the plays/musicals... the are not the entire show.
A clip can run as short as 30 seconds to as long as 3-4 minutes. Sometimes a complete musical number will be included, but usually its just a minute or so of a number.
