Hey just saw on the twitter watch that Vigil, the new play with Malcolm Gets is offering free tickets, through some twitter promo. Just thought I'd share! twitter.com/vigiltheplay
i really want to see this one but I'm broke so Im wicked excited
To clarify the original poster, it is a contest, not some promo where they just give you free tickets for signing up for something or following them.
I actually saw the production last week. I honestly had no idea what to expect and really did not know anything about it other then Mr. Gets was the star. I have to say that I was quite moved by it. There were funny moments and very bittersweet moments. I would suggest this play if you have extra cash.
So it says to retweet their message to win tickets. I know almost nothing about Twitter, so you just copy and paste their message into one of your own? How would they know you even did that?

You would put RT @vigiltheplay [insert message]. Or @vigiltheplay RT [insert message]. I think either of those should work.
Thanks!
This is awesome! I mean I'm all for free theater, I am especially all for free good theater, but seriously all I have to do is copy and paste a something to possibly get free tickets? Amazing
And I <3 Malcolm! I hope that they keep doing this!

Because every time you put a @ before someone's Twitter user name (which is called a mention), it appears in the inbox of the other user to access it. They are able to access their mentions by clicking on @[insert user name] on their side bar. The purpose of this is so users can see who has retweeted their thoughts or replied to them.
I was able to catch Vigil tonight and was pleasantly surprised with the show. I can be leary of these two people shows, but the two actors had no problem holding my attention for the brief 95 minutes WITH an intermission.
Essentially this is a monologue for Gets. Stenborg says exactly two words in act one, although she is on stage for the entire show. In fact she may actually have more stage time than Gets.
The play is told in quick little episodes that are followed by fleeting blackouts. Gets runs the gamut of emotions, and does it quite well. Stenborg's facial expressions are spot on.
This almost reminds me of the dark comedy version of Persona, with Gets and Stenborg in the Bibi Andersson and Liv Ullmann roles respectively.
I liked the show quite a bit as well. Gets was excellent, as always, and Stenborg's facial expressions were priceless. I laughed a lot during the show and was always engaged - the audience seemed to enjoy the show as well. Go see this if you get the chance.
It's a cute play. The first act is essentially a very long comedy sketch, and you see everything coming about ten minutes before it happens, but it's well-acted and mostly holds your attention.
Looks like there doing the free ticket thing on twitter again
