"Violet" Revival?

Posted: 8/16/13 at 12:32amWith the Enores! One Night presentation with Sutton Foster raising interest, can we hope for an actual revival? I just saw Sutton's show, and for the closing of Act I she sang and excellent version of "On My Way". Now I just can't help hoping she gets to play the role on Broadway.

Lauren Ward was the original Violet off-Broadway and was nominated for a Drama Desk for it.
Would love a revival but it seems like too small and quirky of a show for Broadway.

Posted: 8/16/13 at 2:00amViolet is one of my favorite musicals of all time. It has a brilliant book and beautiful score. It's a shame so few people have had the opportunity to see it, although productions do occasionally pop up at regional theatres. I think the subject matter is unfortunately too tough to sustain a full Broadway staging, although if Sutton Foster were willing to star in it...

Posted: 8/16/13 at 3:11amI haven't been to the city for a few years, but this would be a good impetus for me to come back. I was the Assistant Director/Dramaturg for the show when I was in college. The score is gorgeous!
