I realize this is a premature thread, but I have a pertinent question that doesn't need its own thread.
I have a Steven Universe poster with seven of the actors' autographs on it, and I want to take this opportunity to add Patti's autograph to it. Is she the sort of actor or actress that only signs things related to the show he or she is currently in? (For example, Ian McDiarmid would not sign Star Wars things at the Faith Healer stage door.) My plan was to see the show one night, bring the poster to the stage door a later night (it's too big to place under a seat), and carry a Playbill with me to show my support.

In my experience we were told "she'll only sign this show's posters/playbills." but when she came out she happily signed someone's Evita poster and commented on a piece of merch from something else someone brought. You should be fine as long as you don't demand she sign many different things.

In my experience, Patti has always been very gracious at the stage door. She has signed many things that were not from whatever her current show was. Most notably, at every Patti stage door I've ever been to, someone has always brought something from Evita to be signed. She always signs. One word of caution, tho.....for the entire run of War Paint at the Goodman in Chicago, neither she nor Christine ever came out and signed. They always left through a back door. If that ends up being the case, you could always leave your item at the stage door or even mail it to her. She's fantastic about returning things quickly.

I saw Shows For Days at Lincoln Center, and she signed my Anything Goes recording, but there were only a few people.

Ultimately, this is all up to Patti's mood... of course, if it's anything Women on the Verge, she could be in a car pulling away by the time the audience gets out... but when I went to a Patti event, to get her memoir signed, I was first in line, and she wasn't personalizing anything. I asked anyway, and at this point the line was barely forming and had like 5 people in it, she said, sorry honey, I can't personalize anything tonight. And then, I said I loved Women on the Verge... and she proceeded to go on about how amazing it was and how everyone loved it for the next 2-3 minutes. But during that time, she never did personalize that book. ![]()
