Sid Ramin, the co-orchestrator for West Side Story with Irwin Kostal, also has a thing for violas. His orchestrations for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum feature major viola action.
I think having it in both languages is awesome and should make the experience so awesome. I am always concerned about Supertitles though, which I think is definately one reason that I dont like Opera as much as broadway! It seems to me when you are reading the lyrics, you understand what is happening but the music looses importance. It's a mixed bag.
Since everyone knows the story, I think in previews they should try it without the supertitles and see how it goes, who knows it could be awesome. I remember when the Passion of the Christ came out, there was discussion about whether or not to add subtitles, and truth be told I think it would have been better without them.
Either way, I hope they get creative. It sounds great so far!
