Wow, I never thought I would do that, but it does seem the only way to get people to view threads.

Finian's Rainbow:

I just bought the Irish Repetory Theatre's recording w/ Mr. von Essen. Very pretty. Are there only two pianos throughout the whole show?

I think I've heard that before...I'll have to look back in my files though

To answer your question, yes, there were only 2 pianos. I saw this production in March and I was very pleased. Max has such a beautiful voice.

I had NO idea there was a recording of this production of the show. I'll have to check it out.

Yep. Sarah Jessica and Matt made it possible by funding it.

I just listened to an interview with Max and he is with "Dorian-The Musical" in LA. I think the run there is over. He said he thinks that Dorian may be heading to Broadway. I saw Dorian here in Denver 3 times with Matt Cavanaugh. The show is pretty good.

LOL!...I like Wicked, but don't usually read the Wicked threads. I stumbled onto this one by doing a search for Max!
I agree with you BW11, Max has a beautiful voice. I'm so glad they recorded Finian's Rainbow. What a great show that was.
I'd love to see Max back on Broadway too!! He HAS been working like crazy this year though (much to my delight, and my bank account's dismay re: Finian's Rainbow ). Right after FR he went into Auntie Mame with Charles Busch, then to Music Circus out here in California to play Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar (wow!), and then headed to North Hollywood where he played another title role in Dorian...(another wow!) In a couple weeks (January 15th) he's going to be one of the guest soloist with the Albany Symphony, singing selections from West Side Story, and on March 28th a solo concert at Birdland...woohoo!
