Anyone see Derrick Williams, Eden, Carol Kane & Cristy Candler all together that actally thought it was good?? I still can't get over the fact that 4 of the greatest people in this world left the show, in my opinion (no offense but im not that crazy about Shoshana)It got mixed reviews from alot of people, but when Megan leaves, that's basically it, who else is going to be THAT energertic? Who else is gonna be the nicest one at the stage door? I'm really gonna miss her

I saw Wicked with Shoshana, Megan, David Ayers and Rue in September. Shoshana and Megan were incredible. David was OK and Rue was TERRIBLE. Now, I saw Eden, Megan, Derrick and Carol Kane and let me say, each has improved!
Shoshana was amazing but Eden is SO fierce and incredible. I enjoyed Eden better in the role.
Megan was just as amazing, hit those high notes, the usual.
Carol Kane was MUCH MUCH MUCH better than Rue. Carol was very funny and, unlike Rue, understandable. I thought Carol was great.
Derrick is OK as Fiyero, better than David I'd say.
So.... go see it!

Posted: 3/2/06 at 5:38pmI saw them in SF on tour, and i must say, although Carol was ok, the rest of them were just WOW i mean i thought I knew Wicked but hearing her sing those songs made it into a new show.

I'm sorry, I don't get it.
You could understand what she was saying?
I saw Cristy, Eden, Megan, and Derrick all together (with Carol). i thought they were all fantastic, except for Carol.

So, I thread-jack every Wicked thread pimping Jenna Leigh Green.
But seriously, that girl is genius. Best Elphaba EVER, best Nessarose ever.

Posted: 3/2/06 at 8:06pmMan, I am not one to diss, but can someone tell me why Derrick Williams is on BROADWAY? I can only hope he's improved since being in the tour, because when I saw it I thought he had one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard...and so did everyone I was with. He ruined the show for us.

Posted: 3/2/06 at 9:10pmMassive disappointment from them all. Saw them in January thought it was passable. saw it last week and loathed it. So boring with them. Nothing new. Megan was out and I never realized how amazing she was. There's a thread called "Megan Hilty" and has other's opinions.

wickedGeek28: If you loved the show so much you wouldnt of hated it.
Wicked is allways incredible every time i see it. Even though Megan Sikora might suck.

imnotthatmart: I have to COMPLETELY bring the opposite opinion of your criticism of wickedgeek. I am an absolute Sweeney fanatic, fan for years, saw the revival 4 times. However, I am also one of its biggest critics because I expect greatness from it and the cast brings that everytime, so I have no problems.
Same goes for wickedgeek, in order to love something so much you also have to be able to understand its faults as well as its assets. I'd personally trust his opinion over a person who saw it once with one cast and thought it was the hottest thing, not only because he has seen it 6 times with every cast thats come through, but because he loves it so much that he can safely give me an answer on where it stood.
I personally despise people who are like "OMG RENT I LOVE rent So much! Its the best, there is nothing better than it." Just because you love something doesn't mean you have to be blinded by a bias. By him not sticking to his bias, that helps me personally validate his stance even moreso, so please don't go around making it sound like a persons favorite show has to automatically be praised by them everytime. Seems either way people are on the board, you can't win. Either they make fun of you for liking wicked or make it seem like you're not allowed to not like it.

I agree, of course.

Posted: 3/2/06 at 10:54pmI wouldn't know, it hasn't reached that point yet. However, I assume that if the 3rd or 4th replacement came in and the show was lacking energy on a particular night, in comparison with the things I have seen in that show I would be quite disappointed. I sympathize with what Wickedgeek says, but I wouldn't be using the same words as him to describe it.

I saw Wicked a few weeks ago (and yes, I am a Wicked fan. I don't scream it daily, but I love love love the show. It's like little kids getting tickled. Not a whole lot of point, but damn they enjoy it.) and I loved Megan and Eden, but I honestly hated Derrick's performance. His acting is not good. I didn't believe him in the character for a second. I thought Carol was better than Rue. And I didn't care for Ben as the Wizard at all. Question though: The little extra part at the end of Wonderful, when did they add that on? I don't remember seeing it before, but I may be smoking crack.

Posted: 3/2/06 at 11:07pmI never thought Derrick was talented . .jsut made me respect eden even more for making him look somewhat good.

Posted: 3/2/06 at 11:36pmThey started doing the extended Wizard finale when the show opened in Toronto (I saw 2nd week of previews) and I guess they added them in the spring or summer of 2005.

They added it in when Ben came in, so May 31st.

Posted: 3/2/06 at 11:47pmI believe, correct me if I'm off target here, that it seems each Wizard has some special little addition. Joel Grey had his small tap thing. Seems Hearn had some added lyric and Ben gets his own thing.

I actually enjoyed Robert Morse's vocal rendition. A bit dragging in the arrangement but still cool. Part of that version was scrapped with Joel Grey and added for the tour and current Broadway:
"The truth is not a thing of fact or reason
The truth is just what everyone agrees on."
Just a random note.
I actually like the ending a lot. When I first saw it, it took me off guard, but thought it was very cool.

Posted: 3/3/06 at 2:21amStupid question, but I don't want to start its own thread and here is as good as place to ask it, but in all the recordings (granted not many), I have heard of Jenna Leigh Green in the Elphaba role... she sounds like she is singing in an English accent. Am I the only one that heres this or am I crazy?
