Oh no, no - hope you didn't take it the wrong way; didn't mean to jump down your throat if that's what you were thinking!
As for it being stated, rosscoe(au) usually has a lot of accurate inside information. Of coarse, it's probably only being talked about right now - but the wheels are more than likely in motion.

Oh no, I guess I just got a little carried away, lol. Sorry.
I still just don't see why they would do it being how popular this recording is already. Not to mention I doubt Idina and Kristin would like another recording in which they aren't on.

I doubt the producers could care less what their feelings were on the matter.

The thing is most of the people seeing the Australian production have no idea who Idina and Cheno are and nor do they care.
What they want is to go home and listen to the cast they saw at the theatre, and really the OBC recording is nothing more than a snooze fest and that alone is the single biggest reason for having another english recording.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

I don't think we're going to get another English language recording, though I'd love one, as long as it's still on Broadway (which will obviously be a long, long time).

We could, of course, argue for a cast recording in Strine:

It makes sense to have more than one English recording of the show. What about Les Mis and Phantom? There are more than one English recording of each of these. Not to mention Gypsy. IT actually frustrates me more when there is only the one English recording done.
Besides they have already made heaps of money from the Broadway recording. Do you really only think Australians would buy a recording? There are enough Wicked fans throughout the world who would buy it. I would certainly buy another recording even if it had been of the UK cast.
I also don't think that the producers did not record 'The Wicked Witch of the East' to avoid spoilers. I think it would be included if a new recording happened.

1. There is only one English language cast recording of Phantom, as Crawford had a contract with RUG that he would be the only English Phantom recorded.
2. Wicked Witch of the East was indeed cut to avoid spoilers. I highly doubt it would be recorded for any subsequent cast albums.

Thanks Coooolkid - I'm glad I am not the only one who knows of the Canadian recording.
Khashoggi - could you post the link of the article about Wicked Witch of the East and spoilers please? Is it on a website, or how do you know this is the reason it does not appear on the recording?
Thanks.

Apologies, yes, I always forget the Canadian cast recording. But the I know that there was a contract with Crawford re: English language recordings of Phantom, can anyone tell us how the Canadian cast album came to be?
And as for the WWotE, I recall hearing it being discussed on podcast interview with members of the London cast, I don't remember where it was. Bit if you listen to the cast recording, you can tell they went to lengths to cover up the key plot points that may be considered spoilers.
