What about Jenna Leigh Green. She was amazing as Elphie.

It was discussed on a playbill.com article as well. And I don't think "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" should be included in a Wicked album if Wicked tries to deconstruct the story of the Wizard of Oz.

I doubt it would ever be made. And if it was, it probably wouldn't sell many copies. What about the other people who will play the roles in the future? It wouldn't be fair to them if they make a CD with the first few of each role.

the playbill article, and the discussion afterwards on these boards was about two different albulms that would perhaps be made in a couple years. the green albulm would feature different elphabas singing choice tunes of her while the pink albulm would feature different glindas singing her songs.

considering other shows have highlights albums i dont know why this wouldn't sell as much as those, it's a good idea. i wouldn't be suprised because they made me stop selling on ebay, so i hope that means they want to sell it themselves.

I would love to see this happen, but they'd never be able to do it without making everyone mad. How do you choose Stepahnie over Eden over Idina etc? Everyone would have a different opinion on who should sing what. If they did the two seperate albums and just chose a few songs and let everyone sing them (like each Elphie does Wizard & I, Defying Gravity, and No Good Deed) maybe it would work. Also, I wouldn't include Idina or Kristin because they already recorded everything on the OCR.
I would buy whatever they put out, but how many people really would?

I vote for Jenna singing I'm Not that Girl. Definitely the best I heard. She brings her innocence and fargility to that song, and shines...and best of all she changed that stupid end note.

Didn't I recently hear that Shosh was taking extra breaths during "The Wizard & I" since she seemed strained to hold the note?
Oh Marquise, She's some lady that was on the 700 Club on TV selling albums. LOL!

Have you ever heard Jenna Leigh Green sing in Wicked? She was amazing, better than Shosh in a few songs. I do agree that Shoshana's "No Good Deed" is awesome.

I'd have to vote for Eden's rendition of THE WIZARD AND I, Idina's DG, Shoshana's NGD, and Stephanie's IM NOT THAT GIRL.
Cheno's THANK GOODNESS, J.La's POPULAR, Megan Hilty's NO ONE MOURNS THE WICKED
And maybe they could find a way to have all of them sing a part in FOR GOOD or WHAT IS THIS FEELING.

That sounds like a good idea, it could be really fun. Hopefully they will make it, they made a CD of different phantoms.

I really want them to release a Chicago cast recording. I think that Ana Gasteyer's performance should be preserved on a recording. I also thought the cast was quite excellent. It's not totally unheard of. Les Miz has like a billion recordings. Kiss of the Spiderwoman has 2. Even the revival of Wonderful Town has 2 recordings. We'll see...

That's like saying recording the original cast album of a show is unfair to those who have yet to play the roles.

I think that it is a good idea, but honestly, if you are going to make something like this, you need to have more of the cast involved. I know that those are the main roles, but it does not mean that the rest of them are not important. I think that it is a GREAT idea! i will buy whatever ends up coming out! :)
