Wicked in Chicago

Does anyone know who the cast will be for "Wicked" in Chicago? I appreciate the info if you know. If this was posted before, I do apologize. I'm kind of new here.

re: Wicked in Chicago

It'll be the same cast that is in Toronto (and any other city).

Stephanie J. Block has already injured herself and is out of the show for a few days.

Hate to be a stickler, but she didn't injure "herself". She was injured due to technical difficulties during rehersals.

Isn't there going to be a sit-down production in Chicago?

re: Wicked in Chicago

Someone on here said it was extending, but I haven't heard anything about it since...

I just meant that she is injured! Whichever, she's not in the show right now.

I could've sworn I heard that there's going to be a permanent production in Chicago.

re: Wicked in Chicago

Nope there's going to be no permanent production of wicked in chicago. According to broadwayinchicago.com, the tour dates in chicago are still April 29, 2005 - June 12, 2005. I do wish a sit-down production would happen though...

re: Wicked in Chicago

It would have to be in a different theatre if it extended OR stayed. Little Shop of Horrors takes the Oriental a week after Wicked leaves. (Or they would have to move Little Shop.)

Edit: Wicked would also be at the Pantages in CA at that point.

Not sure about the theatre situation but I'm pretty sure it is happening.

re: Wicked in Chicago

I doubt there will be a permanent production in Chicago, mainly because the show is booked for additional dates/cities. The Toronto production is nearly sold out and producer David Mirvish would love for nothing else than to keep a permanent production in Toronto past the date. The only reason he isn't is because the show is already booked for Chicago.

Too bad, it is going to be a hit in Toronto and Chicago.

re: Wicked in Chicago

Maybe it's happening after the tour but it definitely is just coming in May and staying.

re: Wicked in Chicago

No I don't think it's going to be the tour staying in Chicago for a run, I think it's going to be a whole new production.

Nope, sorry bud.

I still maintain there will be a Chicago sit-down production but I guess it's possible I'm wrong.

re: Wicked in Chicago

There were open calls yesterday and the day before and agent submissions today for what is rumored to be a sit down production of Wicked in Chicago. So. There. I'm not sure why Chicago would get a sit down production and other places wouldn't but...there you go...I wish people wouldn't instantly shut people down just because THEY haven't heard about it.

re: Wicked in Chicago

Mattio, I heard this too. Can't source, but I can add another ear who heard this too. It's a hope that WICKED is to be a sit down production after June. I think it will be like RAGTIME though and last as long as it sells.
