Um, like it was always known that WICKED wasn't going to be a permanent resident production at the Pantages.

Its closing has no reflection on its popularity status or ticket sales at the Pantages.

Oh well, I heard that Legally Blonde will play the Pantages in the summer...

I heard that it would close by the end of this year and is moving to San Fran, but haven't heard/read any official announcement.

Rumors about that happening have been around for awhile. Supposedly it's already been scheduled to be in SF for atleast a year.

Will this be the first production of Wicked to close?

Legally Blonde CANNOT be playing at the Pantages in the summer. The show doesn't even go into rehearsals until mid August and the show begins its run in September.

It had a good run for LA, and will move on to SF and hold on to one of our best touring houses for a year and force all the big touring shows into the Golden Gate.

This has never been a secret. When "Wicked" came back to LA, it was common knowledge that a 2 year run would happen at The Pantages.

Nothing's changed. Not real sure what the "panic" is all about.

Phantom was NOT in San Francisco for 8 years. It closed about a month after its 5th anniversary.
