Will their be one? If so will I star the OBC?
Probably. No.
Will there be a search feature? Will you use it?

We don't know yet.
Yes. It's coming out this Halloween. Where have you been?
::rolls eyes::
There have been a few threads on this already, but... eventually yes- there will be one. Kristin & Idina have both been asked are ready and eager to do it soon- and they have said it a couple times in different interviews. The official word is they want to wait a bit, maybe another year or so, let the POPULARity and newness of the show calm a bit.

This has been discussed to death.
It's coming out this Halloween? No way!
And I am sure that the OBC will not be cast, especially Idina (Kristin maybe). I am saying this because I think we all know the story with RENT and The Producers.
americanboy99: CapnHook was joking...
hahahaha
Yeah, and umm, most of the original cast of Rent WAS in the movie.

This thread is hurting me inside.
And, um, Patronus. Your avatar is freaking me out. A lot.
Patronus, I wish I had thought of it.
Persoanally, I wouldn't want the OBC to star. They're too old. I mean, maybe they can play their adult characters, but not while they're students at Shiz.
And then I'd only see it if it was an adaptation of the novel. Give me deep, dark and depressing over happy any day.
Thanks FW. I appreciate the compliment. I agree with you on this completely.
However, the OBC was too old for the characters when they played them on stage too.
Since someone else brought it up, I'll mention the Rent movie as well. I don't want to turn in this into a thread about whether or not it worked, but I didn't love the film and I felt that one of the contributing factors was that the cast looked way too old (and groomed) to be playing those characters. You could get around it a bit with the Rent film, but it would just be silly with Wicked IMO.

Did u C the 3D iMax vershun that has Elphaba deFYing Gravitee rite in ur FaCe?
As far as the stage goes, that's pretty much the point, no?
I've always viewed theatre to more fantasy, and movies more realistic (even if the subject matter may or may not be).

i think if there were ever a year, if Reese Witherspoon could sing, she would be one awesome G(a)linda
but till the make a movie (which will hopefully not be too soon)...lets stop discussing this topic, we have a million other movie musicals coming soon!

I would rather their be just a video recording of the stage show as is or a movie based on the book. OBC would be cool, but not necessary if the cast worked well. But I don't see any of this happening for a few years at least.
Patronus, I actually laughed out loud about that last comment!
I have seen a few clips of Popular. It's fabulous! OMFG I'M SO EXCITED!!!
funny face-
DUH! I know most of the orignal cast was in RENT... and The Producers. What I was saying is that they were both big flops. Obviously, casting OBC just doesn't work anymore.
Yeah there's gonna be a movie and Harvey Fierstein is playing every role.
Seriously, look at Chicago. It won 6 Academy Awards and that was an all-star cast, not the original.
