lol...
I'd have to agree with Al Dente I was like appalled when I heard mention of her on this thread! I don't think she could ever do this role, she would be awful!!

an alto can NOT play Galinda.
Galinda would be a prime role for an actress like Jessica Grove, though I'd hate to see her gone from BYC for so long......

Stephanie Block (who plays Liza with a Z in BFO) covered Elphaba in the tryouts... I hear she is great at the role. Although, after BFO closes in mid-Sept, she might join the Bway cast. I'd love to see her as Elphie!

My vote is for Jodie Langel for Elphaba, the co-author of the book "Making It on Broadway."

I know that people are sick of hearing Jessica Grove' as a casting choice...but I really can see her doing GREAT things with the part of Glinda...the girl's got a GREAT soprano, and actually LOOKS like she could be in college :) I'd like to at least see her u/s the part- she'd be great, and she makes a cute blonde (NDDP)!!!
I also think that Kristen Bell would be a good choice for Glinda...I know she booked a TV series for the fall, so she most likely wont audition for WICKED, but I think she'd be great! And I'd LOVE to see some of the talented "youngsters" of Bway get some good parts! I'm just irked at seeing women who look about 30-35 playing 18-20 yr olds....flame away, cheno lovers! :)
well, sheesh, if Kendra told alli and Kendra told her thrid cousin, twice removed that someone who once dressed someone in RENT years ago, told him in a psychic premonition that in 2004/2005, Kendra from RENT was definitely going to be Glinda and that she would be better than everyone else who ever auditioned for the role, in fact, if Kristin didn't get the role first she would have be Glinda on Broadway already...well then it MUST be true. My bad. I should know better than to NOT listen to the endless gossip and drivel on casting threads on this board. I mean,of course, it's a total FACT that, every big shot producer on Broadway sits and religiously reads this board in hopes that they'll know what to do.I know this because the doorman at the Shubert told me this after he heard someone he used to date say so at Sbarro's the other day. What did they EVER do without this board and you brilliant little casting wanna-be's?

I don't think Sherrie Scott can yell that high.
I think the hardest to replace would be Madame Morrible - Carole Shelley couldn't be more perfect!
And, although I doubt Adam Pascal would tour, he'd be a fun Fiyero - I like the rock edge to Norbert's voice and Adam has even more.
And I think the tour will be very successful. Like it or not, Wicked appeals to the masses - it's a new twist on one of the most popular stories of all time, it's got great tunes that are catchy and it's just got a cool title! A lot of my non-theatre friends love it and listen to it all the time. Time will tell!
