Any thoughts on tour casting for Fiyero or Miss Morrible? I wonder if they will try and "stunt cast" Miss Morrible for name value. Should we anticipate seeing more of the former Designing Women touring now that Millie has closed? Shouldn't be hard to cast, there is hardly any singing.
So my dear you think you can get to Broadway. Well, let me tell you something. Broadway has no room for people like you. Not the Broadway I know. My Broadway takes people like you and eats them up and spits them out. My Broadway is the Broadway of Merman, and Martin, and Fontaine, and if you think you can build yourself up by knocking other people down... ...GOOD LUCK... Seinfeld
Supposedly Kendra Kassebaum has been cast as Glinda.
*Phil screams like a giddy schoolgirl!* That sounds like wonderful casting if it is indeed true. I saw Kendra in a production of A Chorus Line as Val two years ago here in St. Louis. Her "Dance Ten, Looks Three" rendition was hilarious. I'd love to see her take this role on.
how about stephanie d'abruzzio (sp?) from avenue q for glinda
Hmmm...if she could handle the upper soprano stratosphere, I'd almost consider her great for the part. But judging from Avenue Q's cast recording, I'd say that she's a decent mezzo soprano...maybe not coloratura. Wouldn't it be delicious though? The very idea of an actress going from one show to its rival for audiences, and TONYs...OOO!
(I've actually wanted to see Jeremy as Fiyero since I saw Wicked in San Francisco. Just throwing Matt in there because it'd be amusing, although I think he'd be good, too.)
My vote is in for stephanie block too. IT would be really cool to see her again after BFO.

News on the Rent website is that YES Kendra Kassebaum has been cast as Galinda for the Wicked tour! She will be returning to Rent until the start of the tour!
And too, the shrills of excitement were heard down the block when I heard the news! I LOVE KENDRA! She is my FAVORITE! So talented, she is! And cute too! YEAY!

Are you referring to the board at CompulsiveBowlers.com?
Heh.
Better learn some cynicism now, before it's too late...
I'm coming out of semi board retirement to add to Orion's post. There has been absolutely NO casting for the tour or otherwise, so relax freaks! I've never heard of the 2 people you keep mentioning either. Who is this Kessenbaum and is Jenn Cody Fosters wife? Because if that's who you're all babbling on about, than I wouldn't quit my day job if I were any you and decide to go in to casting. Has anyone considered the fact that she can't SING IT?!? How about I state my usual advice when one of these oh-so HIDEOUS and vile threads comes about, let the producers and casting people do their jobs. No matter how badly you *want* something to be true it won't make it so. And posting and shilling it here a million times even, is NOT going to influence the powers that be.
Kendra Kassebaum has played Mark's Mom in RENT for God knows how many years and is currently in Assassins. Kendra has no where NEAR The range for this role, and if I remember right, is an alto, not a s oprano.
I was loking at the RENT site earlier and I was DYING laughing at the thoughtof Kassebaum as Glinda. Itw ould nEVER NEVER NEVER work.
Well, thankfully, I don't know the in's and out's of who and how long anyone has played 'Mark's Mom", so I have no idea who Kendra Kassenbaum is, but I'm still laughing at the people that get mentioned in casting threads on this board. It's like everyone is writing from a loony bin. Why would the producers of a huge smash (like it or not, and I didn't but it is a smash), cast some person who has been playing Mark's mom on the TOUR of Rent for 100 years, to helm the first national tour, of said smash? And why would they cast someone who's predominantly been a chorus dancer, in a very vocally demanding role (Cody)? Where do you people get these "brainstorms"?
I'm sorry, I didn't realize it came from the Rent board. That's totally a different story becasue as we all know, the posters on the Rent boards are the first people to get access to this info even before the producer.
