I didn't see any ORCH C seats, only MEZZ C seats - which are still pretty damn good! I don't know what your budget is, but if you have it to spend I say why not. I'm just happy I stood in line that morning :)
I didn't want to start a new thread on this - but will WICKED in LA or OC have a lottery?! Robert
Do they EVER have lotteries in L.A.? I've never heard of one.
I wouldn't spend the money on opening night...I have heard the touring cast is good but not great...Save your money and go see it on Broadway when Ben Vreen takes over as the Wizard.
I spoke with the Pantages office and they told me that there is some room in front of the stage that could allow two rows (AA and BB I assume), but as eslgr8 said it rarely happens. The extra space is allowed for a bigger stage if needed for more space for whatever gig they are having. The office manager said a lottery is highly unlikely, he should have heard of it by now, but he could not rule out it happening.
Spending money on theater is a tricky thing. You can never sensibly reason spending alot of money on seats, but the magic of the theater experience should never have a price on it. So, if you need to be close...go for it...in my humble opinion.
A lottery in L.A. would be the biggest pain the ass ever. Can you imagine driving to the theatre, paying nine bucks for parking (because there is no street parking by the Pantages)waiting around for an hour to wait and see if you're called and then driving home when you aren't? I'm sure people would do it, but ick - what a nightmare.

Didn't they have a lottery in LA for Rent?
RENT didn't play at the Pantages -- it played at the Shubert in Century City which has since been torn down.

An actress friend of mine named Allison got very very very lucky, and got tickets to Wicked opening night...10th row center. How can you beat that?

They didn't have a lottery for RENT, but they did have rush tickets when they played at the Wilshire Theatre. I remember waiting 10 hours for them...oh the memories.
