WICKED- Mantello and Shwartz didn't get along.

Huge interview with Mantello in todays Los Angeles times calendar section. I would provide a link.. but you do have to pay to read it. Pretty much he says ..if he knew it would have been such a unpleasant experience he would have never done it. I guess they had lots of fights. No wonder there's such a mish mash on display on that stage.

It's personal. I told Shwartz that his hairpiece looked like **** and he gave me an evil glare. I was just bein' honest and trying to help him out...you'd think he'd at least respect that. I have nothing against Joe really. Just his involvement with WICKED. But, if he regrets it, then I'm happy for him. Lets all move on now.

So they don't get along. So what? Jerome Robbins hardly got along with anyone, and look what he accomplished. Professionals should be able to collaborate with people they don't particularly like. And they do, all the time.

Well, look at some of his pictures....it's blatantly obvious and looks just terrible. The man has a show on Broadway. One would think he can afford a nice rug.

Michelle Federer did A Man of No Importance with Mantello.
And apparently they hit it off.
Michelle comes in to audition for Wicked.
Schwartz (with every reason, cause he has EARS) thinks Federer is a tragic singer - because in fact, she is.
Mantello basically says "we hire her, or i walk"...
