One of Schwartz's collaborators said in a conversation with me that they hoped they never had to work with him ever again. This person was nice and without a whole lot of guile.
It is no accident that he had no NY shows between Working and Wicked except for the 5 performance Rags. People couldn't be bothered.
There is a huge ego and he wants to direct.
I have no idea about Mantello. He could be a handful as well.

You know; I have a feeling this is one of those shows that will be even better when replacements come in. I love the cast now; but for some reason I have a feeling that theres alot of really good ladies out there dying to get there hands on this role.

What is the appropriate response to telling someone their hair piece looks like ****? An evil glare seems quite a nice reaction...particularly in your case...if the sound of your voice is as annoying as your posts...Schwartz is an ego maniac dating back to Pippin. Fosse and Schwartz didn't get along either...seems Schwartz has a problem with people improving his material. Joe Montello seems to have quite a career ahead of him he's sort of the IT boy right now... and he has work and awards to support that tittle...of course Schwartz can always find another way to write schmaltzy easy listening music and affix it to a plot it has connection to...So we shouldn't worry about either of them.
