I pray this show suceeds.. I see it October 29th.
I really think it will need good reviews to get the older crowd in.. the people with money in order for the show to make its money back.

Critics haven't reviewed an opening night in over two decades. The show will be frozen by the time of the critics' preview, thus giving the critics two or three days to write a well-considered review.

why can't they change it once it is frozen? What is the reason for this?

On Broadway, opening nights are just an invitation only party for friends of the cast, producers and creative team (with a few fans thrown in). No critics will be there, unless for some reason they're invited -- the deadline for their reviews is usually the morning of the opening and news services, papers, and theatre websites generally begin posting those reviews shortly after the opening night curtain goes up at 6:30.
