That's from Act One - I have always been impressed with Maria's singing voice ( even if I am not too keen on her acting)!
Can't wait to hear the rest of the crowd's impressions -particularly of the Second Act, which seems to be the stronger part of the musical.
I hear people saying the second act is FAR stronger than the first.
I hear other people saying the first act is FAR stronger than the second.
See. THAT'S what constitutes good theatre!
Can't wait!
Ooooh, I can't wait to read reviews on this. I suppose you could say a "friend" of mine is in the ensemble, and this is his Broadway debut, so I'm very excited for him.
It should have been over for a while now-- minutes and minutes. Where are the reviews? :)
Ah, the anticipation is killing me....I want to hear some reviews of tonights preview, lets get em' going...Hehehe!

Ok Bwayboi, that was hilarious. Thank you for that. Especially the Pinapple upside down cake bit. I've been waiting up for news on the first Preview but alas it looks as if I'll have to go to bed wondering how everything went! Hopefully Daniel Torres will write about it tomorrow in his journal! Goodnight all!
I'm sure Daniel will update when he has the chance. Which will probably be sometime tomorrow, even if it is quick! LOL
I was sure there would be a report when I got up this morning...Hope someone will post a report soon and put us out of our collective misery.

I am especially interested in the audience response to the Count's final number...

C'mon viewers of the NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE of ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER'S NEWEST MUSICAL! I've been thinking about reviews all night...the anticipation really hurts! :) I hope you all had a great time!
Saw the first preview last night of Woman In White. First, outside of a couple of costume and scenery problems, the show is ready to open tomorrow. It is probably as tight of a first preview as I have ever seen, although many of the cast originated their roles in London.
The good: The stage is much smaller than London, so the projections are not as overwhelming as they were there. I enjoyed the set very much, although if you sit in the first couple of rows you will lose your mind. The cast is uniformly terrific, with Ball and Friedman the highlights.
The not so good: The score is OK, not great in my opinion. Many will find the evening dull and boring. There is little humor (other than Ball) and it gets tiring at some points. The story will be disturbing to some. It's a bit complicated and you need to pay attention, something Broadway audiences these days are not all used to do doing. This musical is a throwback to 20 years ago and would have worked much better then. There is nothing quite like it on Broadway now.
All in all, this show will probably have reviews all over the page. I enjoyed it more than in London, but I was more prepared this time. Many are going to be bored out of their minds. More sophisticated theatregoers will be mesmerized. It is not for everyone, but I believe it should be seen.

Broadway isn't all Wicked and The Lion King. We need more inteligent, thought provoking shows. Not to say that Wicked doesn't affect people, but the story of WIW is fantastic!
I agree about the storyline being fantastic! I saw it in London and was blown away by the plot line. I loved it...and Maria!
