How was my fellow Canadian actor, Adam Brazier?

"I would really love to see him in the show, so I guess I want the guy who plays Walter to be out if/when I go see it."
Is Daniel understudying Walter then? The only mention I saw of Walter in Daniel's journal was when he said he had to sing one of Walter's songs at the final callback.
Yep, Daniel is first understudy/swing/cover/whatever you want to call it for Walter.
Well, an understudy isn't the same thing as a swing.
Glad to hear that WIW is in such good shape after only its first preview. It was just about to open when I was in London two years ago, and I was sad to miss it there, but hopefully I'll get to see it soon!
And though the reviewers don't really see the show on opening night anymore, the reviews are printed the day after the show opens.

I have a feeling this show will have a healthy run... seems the positives far outrun the negatives.
ddtruitt.
YOU continue to lie. You continue to be wrong. You have absolutley no clue what you are talking about. I have seen every show that I have CLAIMED to have seen.
I have no need to give such an ignorant person as yourself "proof" in order for you to believe me.
If you think you can ruin my reputation by stating that I "lie" on every thread that I post, then go ahead. I could care...
However, no one believes you, and no one SHOULD. It's funny to see the amount of PM's from people who "have my back" and "don't let ddtruitt's ridiculous comments stifle your ability to opine."
I think those speak for themselves.
Why don't you get something to do? Start your own thread? Get a hobby? Something? No one seems to find your posts entertaining anymore, and your comments have most certainly lost their validity.

well, on a positive note....
Does anyone know how the sales have been for this show? I just got a terrific center orchestra seat for next Saturday night (a week from this Sat) and I was rather surprised to get it.
Since not much is being publicized about the show, it's hard to tell how many tickets are being sold etc. However, it is quite positive to hear that the first preview was sold out.
I bought my tickets for November a while ago, and I'm still quite far back in the orchestra section. So I'm guessing you just lucked out.
The show is not selling well, especially in light of the fact that it is ALW's first show in a long time. ALW's name just doesn't sell like it used to.
Intersting...that's not what I've heard.
Where are you getting this information from?

I really have seen little publicity for the show. I think the show would sell MUCH better, especially among tourists, if they'd plaster ALW's name all over it.
In response to the Daniel talk, Daniel is the first cover for Walter. He doesn't say it specifically in his journal, but it's up in the news section .. and I think he may have mentioned it to me in an e-mail he sent me.
Daniel's amazing, and I would pay money to see him do anything. If you want to hear how he sounds, there are music clips and a video clip of him w/ the Altar Boyz original cast at the Easter Bonnet Competition. He's amaaazing.
Vinnie - Where have you been getting your information, lol....I'd be interested to know! Most people would contradict your statement and say that the show is actually doing very well in terms of sales, especially considering the lack of advertising. I think they will eventually kick the show into high gear and pump Andrew's name across the airwaves....Sorry to bust your uninformed little bubble, but Andrew Lloyd Webber's name does still turn a profit, it isn't very often that the FIRST PREVIEW performance of a show is sold out, think about it!
....I am so excited about this show, I think it's wonderful and what a cast! I can't wait to see it in New York!
Later!

Thanks, someone on another board pointed that out to me. I hadn't gotten to the news section of his site before then -- I'm now enlightened, so to speak .
I did, however, get a chance to hear his clip of "Beautiful City," and he has a very nice voice indeed.
It's bad that I'm still confused as to what the difference is between a swing and an u/s. LOL Care to fill me in?
Also.. my friend works for Ticketmaster (who does sell tickets for WiW) and said for awhile there it was pretty much the only show she was selling, and she sells tickets for quite a few shows.

A swing understudies ensemble roles and sometimes a lead. They only go on when someone they understudy is out.
An understudy =can be anyone in the cast. For example, Raoul is usally an understudy for The Phantom, along with an ensemble member or two, and sometimes even a swing.
What a awful show. Don't waste your money. ( By the way.. saw it in London not in NY).
Mmmmmm....hopefully he can back up his trashing next time. I think it is a great show, just the chance to see Michael Ball is worth the full ticket price.
I have backed up the trashing on this show in earlier threads. This show is a dud in London. I can't imagine that unless they re-did most of everything.. that it wont be much different over here.
Folks, the show is not selling well compared to the historical sales of ALW shows. Phantom, Sunset, Aspects all had 8 figure advances before the first preview. WIW is nowhere near that. In fact, there's not one date even sold out yet. Now compared to a lesser show it's selling well, but you can't compare an ALW show to a minor production. In addition, up until about a month ago they were still looking for investors to help fund the Broadway run. In the past, people would have been falling all over each other to throw money into one of his shows. This doesn't take anything away from the quality of WIW as a theatrical piece, but these are the facts. ALW just doesn't sell like he used to.
what about angela christian? i adore her on the recording and am surprised by how much people aren't talking about he rin their posts.

Angela Christian is brilliant as Anne Catherick (judging from the OLC).
Sadly, I don't expect this one to last for over a decade, but I hope it has at least a good 5 year run or so. Long enough for me to see it on Broadway rather than on a tour, which is how I've seen every other show except Phantom (London).

Being familiar with the WIW performance schedule in London, I remember reading DAME's posts from there in December and wondering vaguely when exactly he saw the show. I just looked over his posts again, and here is a summary of his trip:
12/22: DAME left for London.
12/23: DAME arrived in London and went to the afternoon performance of Abridged Shakespeare and the evening performance of Mary Poppins.
12/24: DAME went to the afternoon performance of Jerry Springer. There was no evening performance of WIW.
12/25: No performances of WIW.
12/26: No performances of WIW. DAME posted from Barcelona.
12/27: In response to a question on the board, DAME posted from Barcelona that he didn't like WIW in London. But when did he see it?
DAME posted some sort of review shortly after seeing Abridged Shakespeare, Mary Poppins, and Jerry Springer, but only mentioned WIW when someone asked about it.
I apologize to DAME if I have missed something. I just hate to see someone trash a show without having seen it. Please don't let DAME's posts dissuade you from seeing this lovely show.
Vinnie,
You still haven't backed up any sources yet, but if you insist you are telling the truth--fine.
However, to claim that it is doing poorly and cannot sell out ONE performance is a lie.
The VERY first preview was sold out. Hmm...
