Try 'Tchaikowsky' from Lady in the Dark (I. Goldstein/ K. Weill)- it's incredibly wordy with a whole lotta Russian composers names. Then again, it could be too wordy, i dunno
J'ai compris tous les mots, j'ai bien compris, merci.............

Maybe not appropriate for ITW, but "Words, Words, Words" from Witches Of Eastwick? Then again, I don't think the sheet music is available for that. Nevermind.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but "Popular" from Wicked.

Even though you don't want to limit yourself by auditioning for one specific role, are there a couple of roles you are really interested in? That might help narrow the search.
Wordy does not always mean complex, nor does wordy always equate to "Sondheim-esque".

Priest isn't here, so in his memory:
It is "Getting Married Today", and not "Not Getting Married Today".
When I saw this I thought "GMT", "Another Hundred People", and "Sunday in the Park with George".
That's all Sondheim...

This might be totally off base, but it popped into my head...
What about Show Me from My Fair Lady...shows good range and if done at performance speed could show articulation.
It's not sondheim, but everyone will be doing sondheim.
Good luck :)

Don't want to do everybody says dont....its just too much i don't like the notes it "shows off"
Everybody loves louis isn't rangy really...
Im going for little red I think....because I think Bakers Wife and The Witch are already pre cast....I'd also LOVE to play rapunzel but I don't know if I'm "ingenue-y" enough but who knows
I'm thinking about doing the Broadway sequence from GYPSY ya know "Broadway Broadway how great you are"
Munk, what time?

"Show Me" is a good idea actually... that's what I was thinking... keep the tempo brisk and put it in a good key for you!

Good luck with the audition. I was gonna do it, but everyone and their brother @ Marymount is auditioning for the show. Its insanity.

I don't think I'll audition. The only park I look is Jack but my voice is like a note too low. My voice isn't "robust" enough to be a prince. I think i'll have to skip this one.

I like your idea of Gypsy Song if ur going for LRH. Is Sondheim involved with this production?

Wordy? Sondheim? and possibly legit? If you can get the sheet music (it's only in the full score) look at Kiss Me from Sweeney Todd. Very legit, and very wordy, super patter, much like Not Getting Married Today.
