I laughed when Tiki said that. The performance wasn't that good. Still love her though.

Were they singing live? Something just sounded completely off about the sound. The music didn't sound loud enough and I swear I heard people talking.

I agree with you, and they all sound great together. Jersey Boys on PBS did wonderful.

It kinda fell flat but I was happy Karen at least sounded healthy. Unless they were lipsynching...it seemed live to me.

My ears are bleeding from Jewel right now.

Jewel was pretty awful and the WSS performance seemed off, but I too am glad Karen's back! I loved the shot of John Tartaglia :) was that Michael Arden he was next to? I couldn't tell in such a quick shot.

The audio on my TV was echoing for all of the performances. I'm watching on the HD channel. What a mess! I thought the Tonys were bad with the sound. Its strange that no one else has had this problem.

I thought Karen Olivo did a great job. Her dancing continues to get better. The performance sounded live to me, although I thought Rob Thomas lip synch.

were they actually outside? on a boat? by the river? in a studio? because I went to the fireworks and didn't any performers, any camera crews, any sign of all this going on. I mean obviously they had a long stretch to cover but they could've at least had speakers on every corner so we could hear it.

they were on the intrepid on thursday night - they weren't lip syncing except for some of the big group lyrics here and there which were on the track with the music

That must be why it sounded so poor then. Bad acoustics, but then I swear I heard chattering through it.

Edit-The singing wasn't bad, but it just seemed to get lost, as did the music.
