Posted: 6/3/08 at 6:55pmhas anyone seen the bway.com video. Celina is totally the Austin of this competition. SHe was like yeah I did some Broadway all ensemble though... like UGH shut up. You understudied the female lead in Tarzan.

Lindsey (Ridgeway) was Morgan on Boy Meets World.
And regarding Celina, she's had ages and ages of more experience than Austin. Not only has she actually been on Broadway, she's had substantial roles in the shows she's been in. She went on numerous times in TARZAN, DRACULA...

I thought it was darn hilarious when they called So Much Better "One of the hardest songs on broadway" and an "incredibly high song". As a soprano, I giggled at that one =)
As much as I do like Legally Blonde, they put it on this ridiculous pedestal because the viewers don't know any better.
And yeah, like half of them have Broadway experience, and Celia S was in the Hairspray movie!
PS HayleeDuffSUCKS.

Posted: 6/3/08 at 7:03pmOh yeah def more than Austin. But I feel like they come across the same the way he kind of brushed Link under the carpet and how all the interviews I have seen of her she seems to not bring any things up. At least the other girls mentioned parts.

I laughed out loud when they said
A: That "Legally Blonde" was one of Broadway's biggest hits yet it has been close to closing many times
B: That "So Much Better" is the hardest song on Broadway yet I have heard so many teen wannabe pop stars on youtube sing this song without any trouble
C: that half of these girls have been on Broadway.

Posted: 6/3/08 at 7:50pmBesides her understudy assignments in Dracula and Tarzan, Celina played Anytime Annie in 42nd St which is not an ensemble role and she was Demeter in Cats, so she had some substantial stage time there as well.

Posted: 6/3/08 at 7:55pmI think it's fine that some of them have had the experience. None of them have been on stage on Broadway 90% of the show, 8 times a week, with the show centered around them. I just hope we see an improvement because I wasn't all that impressed with most of their vocal performances.

Posted: 6/3/08 at 8:23pmMealz, I am aware that they have been on Broadway. But NONE of them have had the full-time starring role. Yes, minor roles and understudying. But not THE lead.

oohshizz146: I think they meant high for belting. Not for us sopranos.

Posted: 6/3/08 at 11:44pmUm, are you sure Lindsey is Lindsay Ridgeway from BMW? Because they spell their names differently, are different ages, and grew up in different places. Plus, they don't look alike at all.

"So Much Better" really isn't as high as they were making it out to be even for belting standards. One of the hardest songs on Broadway? Not so much. It's a up-tempo song with a handful of key changes.
Back on topic, I'm not opposed to the idea of the contestants having previous professional work, including on Broadway, since it at least sets them up for being able to handle the 8 shows a week a little better than someone without the prior experience.

Posted: 6/4/08 at 5:36amI feel the only reason that song has been labeled as being hard is because Lauren Bell Bundy can't always hit that last note (I have nothing against her, just stating fact.)

It's obvious that these girls are on a pursuit for fame which is why their "minor" roles on Broadway don't mean crap to them. I think it's also a sad thing that this is what Broadway casting has come to, picking people from a reality show! It's sad and pathetic and I'd LOVE to really know what the cast of Legally Blonde thinks about it, I'm sure they're downright thrilled!
All I got to say is I hope that all these girls, especially the ones with Broadway experience, are just playing at being bad singers because they were just awful and would have been laughed out of a real audition!

Posted: 6/4/08 at 10:55amIt is NOT Lindsey from Boy Meets World. Suzicat is correct.
