Waitress rush/stage door

Going to rush Waitress on Friday of next week. I usually arrive about an hour early. Wondering if I need to arrive even early b/c Jeremy Jordan? Does anyone know if the rush lines have been extra long since he joined? My friend who is rushing with me is dying to see the show so I want to make sure we have the best chance of getting seats.

Also is Jeremy Jordan still meeting at the stage door? Is it still none of people trying to meet him?

Thanks!

Waitress rush/stage door

Rushed on Sunday, got there 2.5 hours early, was #20 in line. The line was super long, I would definitely recommend getting there AT LEAST 2 hours early, if not closer to 3. Especially since Friday only has one show. As for the stage door, I highly recommend running out after bows as it is one of the most crowded stage doors I have been to. Thankfully, the rush seats are on the aisle so it should be pretty easy to run out after the show. But prepare yourself for crowds. That being said, Jeremy and Shoshana both take their time and will sign everyone's playbill, even those in the back. Pictures have been hit or miss, but they both were not taking pictures after the Sunday matinee. Hope this helps!

I was in line for regular tickets, not rush, but the line was pretty long even though they only have 30 tickets at a time. And yes, Jeremy stagedoors, but when I went, he was the rudest cast member. Though, he could have just been cranky. The stagedoor was packed, I mean more packed than when I saw Wicked with Ryan, so leave the second they come out for curtain call. Shoshana doesn't come out, and the actress playing Becky (can't remember her name) doesn't come out. If you have some extra cash and you're looking to get a playbill signed by the whole cast, backstage passes aren't that expensive.

I’m so confused why the stage door is crowded? I did the stage door for American Son and there were maybe 13 of us and Jeremy had no issues taking pics, talking, etc. I know musicals usually have crazier stage doors but it shocks me that there are hundreds of people there.

Where would you get a backstage pass from?

Stage door is often packed before the show even ends. People who haven’t even seen the show stand there to get there first. Now people are waiting for both Jeremy and Shoshana do you have two sets of fans.. Both have the reputation of coming out when they are on, even if it’s between shows on two show days. I’ve never seen anyone rude at the stage door except maybe for some demanding fans.

There is no way to stop people who haven’t seen the show from waiting. I personally think it’s unfair but maybe that’s just me. I’m also not a fan of fans leaving the show early to get a better spot in line. The actors work hard. Don’t leave before the applause. It’s just rude.

To darreyl102: He didn't take pictures with hardly anyone, like we would ask (I said "do you mind if I could get a picture with you please?"Waitress rush/stage door and he was like "yeah, whatever" but didn't stop for anyone except the first couple people he saw. He also rushed through autographs and whenever someone asked him a question he completely ignored him. Some people didn't even get an autograph from him. I know a friend told me he's had some family issues lately, and I understand that, but if you're gonna come out for stagedoor, you need to actually acknowledge everyone instead of blowing them off like that. This was just my experience though, everyone else's I've heard said he was nice.

They don't owe anybody anything but their performance on stage but if you are going to go out to the stage door you can at least respond to a question asked. Personally, if I had family issues I would be leaving out another entrance and not doing it.

To be fair to the performers I think a lot of the time they’re kinda just trying to get through all the autographs at stagedoor and it’s always a bit manic at Waitress and so they don’t often even hear the questions being asked. Sara had a no selfie policy probably so she could get through all the autographs or else she’d be there all day, which I totally understand.

If anyone is going to the London Waitress the stage door is much better in that respect because the way they’ve organised it (which they probably cant do outside the Brooks) is that everyone patiently queues all the way down the pavement by the stagedoor in a line and the performers walk down the line of people signing etc.

Understood and a fair point.
