it's a tough call. I'm considering it, they are apparently broadcasting the concert on loudspeakers for the people waiting outside. So I'd be doing essentially what I am now, only outdoors. Hmmmm, but if I didn't get in at all, I'm petty enough to let it ruin my day. Agh, the decisions!

just stay indside and enjoy it. there are apparently hundreds outside waiting.
yeah good call, home is comfy. Man, Harnick is sounding pretty great considering he's gotta be in his 80s by now.

Tierny was glorious.
So excited to hear Chip. I'm in rehearsals for INTO THE WOODS right now in the role of The Baker. So, WOOOO! Go Chip!

Why choose to a duet if you have no one to sing it with? He still sounds fabulous, but what was that about? I wanted to laugh. He switched from harmony to melody and then back again.
sure thing! I'm just glad to have people around who are diggin' this whole thing as much as I am. my friends don't understand the magnitude of this radio broadcast, as if they're going to find a better time than this out in public somewhere. But public doesn't have Chip Zien, does it? Chip brings the party everywhere he goes.

When I heard the first chord, I think I creamed my pants.

Even with a cold, she sounds absolutely incredible. GOD, do I wish I was there!!! If I didn't have tickets to Samson and Delilah at the Metropolitan Opera tonight, I'd probably hop on a train into the city right now with my walkman.
Sing it, girl. You've still got it.
Perfect.

That woman is glorious. A goddess.
Every word she said in thank you to that man could not have been worded more perfectly.
next year, I want "Wall To Wall Elaine Stritch"!!!!
she'd do the whole 12 hours by herself, even if she had the flu and was undergoing root canal.

"When they told me I had to follow Elaine Strich... everybody said don't." Best quote ever.
Skinner does a great "Foxtrot", but was the flubbed lyric intentional?

elaine stritch...
there are no words. i wouldn't even know where to start.
i thought chip's performance was beautiful even as a solo. and having the audience join him brought tears to my eyes... ha. i'm a dork..
also, i just did a cabaret recital that was all sondheim. there were two of us and it was called "it takes two" and so this is just perfect to follow that up.
That was the funniest Sondheim parody I've ever heard (Yes, funnier than Into the Words).
y'know what's funny? it's not even 2 PM yet. y'know what else is funny? that "another 100 lyrics" parody.

I am looking forward to some "Agony." I love Jason and Gregg and I'm mad I missed Gregg singing "Marry Me A Little." Only 1 and a half songs left.
