Everyone was drunk. Harvey Firestein was handing out Vodka stingers backstage.....

re: Was Billy Joel Drunk last night?

That was part of the "act." Notice how she said "nobody is lost...yet." Right after that, Billy was "all lost."

Isn't he the guy who sang "Bottle of Red, Bottle of White"? If so, the guy wrote a song about damn alcoholic beverages. What more initiative do you need to assume he was drunk?

re: Was Billy Joel Drunk last night?

Wow! That makes a lot of sense.

I guess Mel Brooks really is a Nazi. That Rogers and Hammerstein really did climb every mountain. That Sondheim was a mass murdered and a barber.

Thanks for solving these mysteries for me.

Gee, being that I'm an imbecile, I had NO clue Mel Brooks was really a Nazi! I wonder what he drinks...

re: Was Billy Joel Drunk last night?

Are you telling me that you are a mentally deficient person having a mental age of three to seven years and requiring supervision in the performance of routine daily tasks of self-care? Wow....

Well, that's your input on my comment. But alas, you're not in my head and COMPLETELY misinterpreted what I meant by that. So I'd rethink commenting on mentality levels if you can't even interpret a simple, sarcastic remark.

I'm sorry. I'm new here and already being an asshole. Purely defensive. I didn't mean to be offensive. Just perplexed as to why I got such a negative response to a simple comment.

There were problems with the teleprompter last night

both during the webcast and at the beginning of the CBS broadcast. Since Joel's was one of the first awards, I'm sure they were still having problems.

I wouldn't be so quick to make that accusation. IF someone has a drinking problem, it's not to be taken lightly by the person or the people around them.

Perhaps there was drinking going on backstage but it doesn't necessarily mean he was participating and if he was...it doesn't mean that's why he messed up the name of the show. He may just have made a misstatement.
