Tales of the City was over a decade ago, and you'll remember part two went to Showtime. This country is a lot more uptight since then.

I saw some people on another thread talking about they couldn't believe you could say "dammit" and "oh my god," but you couldn't say "god dammnit." While exceptions do abound, it's been that way forever. I remember ages ago when "Terms of Endearment" premiered on NBC and they warned of "candid language." I remember "bag of sh-t dust" getting through, but any "god"s that preceded any "damn" got nixed.

It was edited in Jacksonville. The Jesus ----- and ----head which were both just ludicrous in my opinion. Seriously PBS? Seriously?
