Wayne Brady to host Fox's "Celebrity Duets"

I suppose this was one of Wayne Brady's conflicts in backing out of "The Wiz." He will be the host of the new Fox reality show, "Celebrity Duets." The show was created by Simon Cowell (American Idol) and featuring Jai Rodriguez (Rent, Zanna Don't), Lea Thompson (Cabaret), Lucy Lawless (Grease), Patti LaBelle (Chicago), and Cyndi Lauper (3Penny Opera) will be a few of the contestants on the show.

The show seems to have a similar premise as American Idol. Judges will critique the celebrity-singer combination and America will decide the winner each week. The show debuts next Tuesday August 29, 2006 at 8pm (EST/PST).

More game shows! Just what we need is more junk like this. No doubt it will grab top ratings and make many dollars for Simon who has taken his one idea (stolen from earlier TV shows: "Amateur Hour", "Star Search", "The Gong Show" and others) and turned it into one bad show after another.

But WHO THE HELL PUT LIL RICHARD ON A REALITY SHOW AS A JUDGE!?
What the hell- he seems like he's majorly drugged up.

lucy sounded really god besides her ending note that was kinda flat but i'm sure its hard to hear singing next to michael bolton. she played rizzo in the grease revival so i figured she had some kind of singing voice.

yeah the Judges are a who's who of has beens (but then again, the entire show is a who's who of has beens)
