Why has this show never come to Broadway? I love Queen and I really would like to see this!
I'd go to London, but I really don't feel like it. :-P

It played in Vegas, and may still be there. The woman who sat next to me at Mamma Mia in London had seen it and she said that in We Will Rock You, the plot is forced out of the songs, while in Mamma Mia, the plot and the score work together.

Why don't you feel like going to London? There's some brilliant theatre there, not to mention so much history to see and feel a part of.

I'd love to go to London, I just meant right now I don't feel like it since I am going to see two shows next Wednesday, plus I have about 5 regents this year. Maybe in the summer? :)

I've never seen the show (although pictures from it looks very . . . um . . . "different"), but I have the cast recording and I like *most* of it.

all I know about the show is that the two leads are named after the names sung in Bohemian Rhapsody. I have seen a couple of pictures as well, and it does look a little funky. But, still, it's Queen.

WWRY was at the Paris Hotel in Vegas, and it lasted for a while, from mid 2004 up until I believe, early 2005. I think when I was there in January 2005 the giftshop was still in the hotel so it must have still been running. So it didn't do too badly, not any worse than Hairspray or Avenue Q did.

I got free tickets from my sister and I like Queen so I enjoyed the show even though the plot was just so stupid. Maybe I had less discriminating tastes back when I was 18, and maybe I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much if I had payed $120 per ticket. Who knows.

It may come to Broadway if it does well in Toronto...

While I agree with munk, I must tack on a semicolon to that sentence and continue with:

stay for the last 15 minutes because they ROCK! The show is so terrible, and then the end is just an awesome queen rock concert, and when the audience gets really into it and singing along it's just incredible to witness/be a part of. Sure, maybe it's not really musical theatre, but it is electrifying.

My friend recommended it to me, and I had no idea what he saw in the show and I was complaining at intermission, but the end really got me. I would totally recommend this to a lot of my friends, solely for the last 3 numbers. And you WILL be laughing at the absurdity of it all through the rest of the show.

I saw it in London last summer and really enjoyed it. The cast and the songs are perfect. If you have a chance, do go see it.

The cast recording doesn't do justice to the show, since the cast is weaker, especially Tony Vincent in the lead when compared to the current Galileo, Peter Johansson.

A mindless plot, but then so many musicals do have ridiculously implausible "stories", but it has terrific music and usually some very strong casts. (There is also a great producers' dvd of it knocking around...ahem....well, so I hear!!!!)

I saw the show twice in Vegas. Though it may not have been the MOST mind tantalizing show out there, it was still very entertaining and very funny at times. The cast was amazing both times I saw it (different leads) and my husband and I both enjoyed it. You shouldn't always judge something on what other people say about it, use your own judgement!!

I saw the show on a trip to London and Vegas and loved it (London was better). Of course that makes sense since I am a classic rock/theater fanatic.

The plot is that in the world of the future people only listen to downloaded music and rock 'n' roll has been outlawed. The rebels, Galileo & Scaramouche, join forces with the Bohemians, the rebels to bring back rock 'n' roll and defeat the Killer Queen and her henchman, Kashoggi.

Yes, it is by far very silly at times, but I found that provided part of the fun. A lot of rock 'n' roll/Queen jokes. You can't go expecting a groundbreaking show. If you like Queen's music, love good ole' rock 'n' roll theater, and can laugh at silly, yet funny puns and jokes, you will love it (Like me).

or you could go to the oddly directed and strange version running in Toronto right now. The voices are good and production qualities great with an amazing orchestra but weird staging and a lot of dead time. Saw it this past Tuesday while I was there.
