I have to agree with you there.

Have Roundabout do it as another Harry Connick / Kelli O'Hara thing.
"Harry Connick"
Not a bad idea.
That's not a bad idea! I think they would both be winning in the roles, and then we wouldn't have to worry about losing money.

How about Donna Summer and Lionel Ritchie? With The Starland Vocal Band as the backup singers.

The Pajama Game was great but I don't want to see Harry do it. He would play it as Harry not Vernon Gersch.
would Sutton and Christian work? I don't really know the show, just throwing out names to match what I've heard already...:O)
NO.
Harry Connick? Sutton Foster? Megan Mullaly? Haven't we learned anything? You cannot do a Broadway show if you don't have any Jews.

I'd rather see it with Lucy and Richard...
Read: I'd rather see the same people in the role almost 30 years later (that's pretty friggin old for a up and coming lyricist living in a small apartment trying to make a name for herself and too poor to buy her own clothes so she steals clothes from show wardrobes) than see any black people at all....
Yeah, that's tolerant.

I want to see Luci and Richard do it again. But I'm just making some suggestions.

they're playing our song has had two proffesional productions in the last 4 years in australia. Most reccently with Simon Bourke and Georgie Parker in Sydney with ensemble theatre and In Melbourne with Sharon Millerchip and I cant remember the guy for the production company. I only saw the melbourne one but loved it. I dont agree that it is Stuck in the seventies. The production company version was very sleek and seemd very up to date without major changes to script of score

Victor Garber was in it in 1981. I think he could do it again!
Ian Stenlake was in the Production Company presentation (it wasn't a full production). I've said it before and I'll say it again Doug Schmidt's set was the third star of the show. Every production of it I've seen without that set (the revolve, sliders and projections) has been kind of clunky. The set was what made the whole show seem slick.
Richard? I think you all mean Robert Klein.

Yep, I agree too - He sucks (and not in a good way)

Had I been saying Richard? Oops! I meant Robert. lol.
But my point still stands...we NEED a revival of this show.
Raul Esparza and Kelli O'Hare (sp?)?
As much as you hate Broderick and wife, getting them together for this is a great idea from a producer's point of view. Anyone less famous would make it bomb bad. Off Broadway? Maybe, but I doubt it would turn a profit..what does there nowadays? Or a Broadway non-for-profit theater could do it too, and get away with the original couple.
There's a production of this currently running in LA - North Hollywood to be exact - with Vicky Lewis and Scott Waara. I haven't seen it but I've heard good things.
On a site that some of you may have heard of I just ran across a clip of Lorna Luft singing "I Still Believe In Love".
I watched that clip, and Lorna sounds terrible.
Debbie Gravitte does a terrific "I Still Believe in Love" on her solo album. Maybe we could get her to do a revival? I also got my Kennedy Center season brochure a few weeks ago---it says that Arnez and Klein are reuniting to do a three performance run of the show with NSO. I'd love to make the trip down to DC for that.
Well here's your chace to see the original leads, conducted by Hamlisch no less! Someone check it out and let us know if it still works.

it's one of my favorite shows... a revival? how about idina and taye? loved lucie and richard/robert but saw the clip of the simon tribute and it just didn't work. she can still carry it off but he looked like he was on the verge of cardiac arrest.
it's a little dated.. ok, it's very dated.. but i think it could still work today.
