A good actor makes it appear that he/she is not acting.
Which is exactly why I don't enjoy Tina's performance as much. I felt like I could always tell that she was acting. Her lines are TOO acted. She tries to be a little too "cute" and it comes across as cheesy sometimes. To me, anyways. That's just my opinion. I know you love Tina to bits, and she's always been a sweetheart when I've met her. Nobody can have exactly the same opinions.
She's like that in real life. A real cheese ball.
Actually, having finally seen Tina's Julia AND meeting/chatting with her at stagedoor? Phantom2 is right. She's exactly like the way she is in the show - very bubbly, perky, and a total goofball.
And she was actually being tame today compared to normal.
Cheese ball anyone?

The 8 girls that were next to me (which I know they post on here because I heard them say BroadwayWorld sometime), had to be the most rude and obnoxious people ever. I'm not one to complain but let me tell you. Throughout the entire show, they didn't stop SCREAMING and cheering excessivly loud. Girls, we weren't at an American Idol concert. We were at a Broadway show. It was rude and immature.
I wasn't there, but please, remind me to be silent the next time I go see this show. I'm sure it'll make the cast feel incredibly good about themselves and their performance, seeing the audience not caring at all.
The funniest was when I was there these girls in the front row screamed when Tina walked on stage and she like totally freaked!

"You're talking about that crazy bitch with the black hat and her son, right?"
Hm sounds like me and my mom. Can I ask what we did to be known as "that crazy bitch with the black hat and her son"? Because, for all I know, we sat through a Broadway show, enjoying ourselves after recently dealing with a death in our family. Though I wasn't close with the person that got murdered, she was still family to me. From the moment I found out on Thursday (before it even hit the news) until late Saturday night, I was all tears. You try seeing your aunt on the news talking about how great HER aunt was. My mom kept trying to get around me to get me to not think about it. So finally, we decided to see TWS. Yesterday, except for the little article in Daily News, I didn't even think about what happened. I was in NYC, enjoying my day, escaping reality for 10 hours. It took our minds off of the horrible situation and we enjoyed 3 hours of great talent. So what did we do that makes us a "crazy bitch"?

I'm going to sound like a bitch, but I don't really care about what happened to make your weekend suck. Your mom was bitching the entire time we were in rush line about how there were too many people infront of you guys and you were going to get bad seats. And then she proceeded to pre-show stagedoor STALK every actor she could find, which was beyond ridiculous. We were just standing around, specifically waiting for one of the actors. But let me just say, I don't appreciate your mom sneaking up behind me and my friends while we were chatting with Andy Karl. It was not only freaky as hell, but rude for her to be all "who was that? Is he in the show? Who does he play?" later on when we were inside.
Whoa.
Anyway, I guess I was in a very different situation last week than Ilovewicked was talking about. That makes me feel better.
I recently went with a group of people to see this, and for some of them, it was their first Broadway show. I think it's a good show to take a friend to who normally doesn't go to Broadway shows.
I took my best friend to TWS for her first Broadway show. She loved it.
Casts do feed off the energy from people cheering. Are you going to be mad at people for giving a standing ovation? "How dare they stand up and block my view!!!"
I cheer all the time, and give standing ovations. Like I said, I was in a different situation than Ilovewicked.
I have a review too...long overdue:

yeah, good point about the standing ovation and all- i dont think its annnoying. i guess it shows the cast you love them enough to stand up :P haha. anyways, i love being one of the first people standing for ovations- at WEDDING SINGER i gave one for the ensemble and everyone else!
that is really cool about seein Tina- i wish i could see her interpretation of the role.
is she more Drew Barrymoreish than Laura is? i'd imagine so...
Eh. I guess you could say that. I find Drew Barrymore to be a little bland (in TWS, not in general). Tina's funnier.

oh, dancing, do you know what we might do about the whole letter-writing shebang if WEDDING SINGER closes before tech4life sees it? i hope the closing notice will be posted well in advance... i hope there isnt one, period.
Regarding standing ovations, I don't see what's wrong with them. People always say standing ovations should only be given when you have seen a spectacular performance that just blew your mind away. Well, what if you were one of those people who didn't go to the theatre that often and just had the time of your life? Well, give a standing ovation then. And then it's like a domino effect...everyone starts following...honestly I don't see what's wrong with it. It gives the cast more energy and let's them know that you appreciated their hard work.
