Am I allowed to post this directly??
"Auditions will be held March 12 at 10 a.m. (male and female performers interested in the listed roles); March 13 at 10 a.m. (male dancers and dancer-singers interested in understudying), and 1 p.m. (female dancer and dancer-singers interested in ensemble, most will understudy) at Chelsea Studios, 151 W. 26th St., 6th fl., NYC. Prepare a brief 1980s pop or rock song showing range. True pop is preferred. Performers are welcome to sing from the show for this call, but should have another selection with them. Posted: 1/1/08 at 1:11pmIts myspace says it's coming to Boston, but it doesn't say so on the website, so I'm kinda wary.
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#33
Posted: 1/1/08 at 1:58pmLooking really forward to seeing it when it comes through St. Louis in March!
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#34
Posted: 1/1/08 at 5:31pmIt's really a disappointment to see that this tour is being cast as non-equity. The quality is not the shame.
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#35
Posted: 1/1/08 at 6:06pmThe cast looks like SH*T!
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#36
Posted: 1/1/08 at 6:19pmI think the cast looks wonderful...we should just be happy we got a tour to begin with since it really wasnt that successful on Broadway(even though its been one of my favorites ive seen on Broadway). I got my whole family tickets to see the tour in Columbus I am really excited for them to see this wonderful show!

Labels, Its all it is.
Equity, or non equity who cares,
you can still find the same talent in both, bad and good.
I saw the non-equity Hairspray cast and they blew my socks off.
Just because a tour is non-equity it doesn't mean the talent is absolute ****. Thats a bold faced lie. So drop that old wives tale that non equity preformances are horrible.
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#38
Posted: 1/1/08 at 6:31pmI saw the tour. The cast is wonderful. See it if you get a chance.
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#39
Posted: 1/1/08 at 8:06pmOkay, both of Julia's wedding dresses are AWFUL! Did they go bargain bin shopping at the local Salvation Army??? I know it's non-equity and they're having budget cuts, but come on. It's a WEDDING dress. Have some credibility to it.
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#40
Posted: 1/2/08 at 11:38amOK that was a little far but, Robbie looks stoned and Glen reminds me of Sweeney Todd too much NOT Glen Gulia.
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#41
Posted: 1/2/08 at 2:53pmI have to disagree. Equity performers are held to a much higher standard overall with a much more polished look. This tour should have been equity, but the producers didn't want to give up the extra buck for the benefit of the performers and equity houses.
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#42
Posted: 1/2/08 at 3:02pmWhat do you mean equity houses. RENT is non equity and is performing at Caddilac Palace.

Equity performers also have a lot more experience on their resume. Most of the leads in this tour have just graduated college.
There's nothing wrong with that though. I think it was smart to cast such young and energetic people into these roles, because that's what these roles are calling for. It's Adam Sandler slap-stick comedy after all.
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#44
Posted: 1/2/08 at 3:22pmErin Coors is the stuff. Her Kate in The WIld Party was outta this world. I am so excited to see her in this!
re: Wedding Singer Tour Thread#45
Posted: 1/2/08 at 3:39pmBillFinn- say what you will about the non-equity cast but the costumes in those pictures are identical to those used in the Broadway production, and, in fact, probably are the Broadway costumes. Both of the wedding dresses look identical to the ones Laura Benanti wore.
