I thought it was cute, though it probably would have benefited from being trimmed down to one act. However at the end of the day, it’s refreshing to see an original musical… even if it has a few flaws. The performances are great, and if anything from this show should have been a shoe-in for a Tony, it was the score. Unfortunately both times I had tickets, Tutty was out. So I’m disappointed I won’t get the chance to see him finish this out. What bothered me most about the show was really the p...

I was 40th in line for rush on a Sunday last month and got a rear center orchestra seat for $40.I’m glad I was able to see it and at the price, it was definitely worth it. Max Clayton and McKenzie Kurtz’s performances alone are worth admission and should have been nominated. The premise is meh and had “Two Strangers”...

Yes this show was problematic and had its issues — direction, narrative in this political climate, leading lady controversy, etc, but at the very least it deserved a Best Original Score nomination… and I will happily die on this hill.

Just saw the ticket prices and maybe I’m out of touch… by $199 for the last row of the mezzanine at the Winter Garden?!$599 for front mezzanine and $399-$499 for decent orchestra seats. Like WHAT ARE WE DOING?Were these the same price points prior to the Tony wins?

When I saw Chess, Hannah sounded amazing… toe to toe vocally with Lea and Nicholas. Both The Queen of Versailles and Two Strangers… have a better score than Schmigadoon (I will happily die on this hill).Titanique or Two Strangers… should have at least taken Best Book.

I keep seeing new clips with Sherie, and it just works. The show’s flaws are still there, but h...

Not saying there was an easy out or anything in anyone’s contracts, but just makes you wonder. Also, major missed opportunity from the merchandising team for not capitalizing on the “that was rude” TikTok trend. I was genuinely just curious, but it’s almost a bit comical if we’re being honest. I know the schedule can be grueling, but I really thought all of the leads would have been on for their last show together on January 4th (before Simard went on vacation).

I believe when she returned from leave that her new schedule was no Tuesday nights, and then out both Wednesday/Saturday matinees as well.

TWO STRANGERS (CARRY A CAKE ACROSS NEW YORK) Reviews

I was disappointed not to see Sam; however, Vincent was solid and held his own, (though the accent was inconsistent throughout, especially singing).Despite it being a matinee, the house was only about 2/3 full, with several empty rows.Overall, it wasn’t my favorite and many of the songs build, but don’t quite land melodically. I’d consider seeing it again for Sam, but based on this season alone and assuming it stays open through June, there’s no way it doesn’t win Best Musical.
