If the Weisslers DID tranfer it to Broadway... How long before Tony Danza plays Ben? Or Debbie Gibson plays Sally?

edited for some response to the actual thread; I love the Bebe idea. Although her in red doesn't quickly come to mind, I'd love to see the dancing legs!

If this actually happened, I suppose I'd be grateful for any revival, but I just don't know how it would work in concert style as a production. Granted, I was never crazy about the Chicago revival, but I can see why people too to it. Follies without extravagance just seems incongruous.

There are only three possibilities for a Broadway revival of FOLLIES in the next 15-20 years: (1) It will never happen, (2) It will never happen, and (3) It will never happen.

To do a first class production (what Follies deserves) you would have to make a ticket price more prohibitive than it already is

On Stage yesterday said moving the Encores Follies to broadway was financially unworkable

Bebe has what is called a lateral lisp; its very similar to what Drew Barrymore has.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Kelli O'Hara being considered for Nellie in LCT's South Pacific, not Victoria Clark?
The Weisslers have no business bringing this to Broadway. Of course the original cast will be great, but what of the replacements? P Diddy as Ben and Brooke Sheilds as Sally? Usher as Dimitri Weismann? Goldie Hawn as Carlotta? Britney Spears and K-Fed as Buddy and Phylis? (Yeah, that's a little outdated. Sorry.) I'd rather have a recording made. Imagine K-Fed as Buddy.

Michael Bennett, I just downloaded an interview with Bebe and I still think she sounds perfectly normal. The hypochondriac in me thinks that I must have a lateral lisp myself if she sounds so normal.

Victoria Clark has a lisp as well, hasn't hurt her career ... REAL people are flawed, chubby,lispy,rail thin,and sometimes not perfect, and it tugs all the more because they're just like us....barring Bebe Newirth...she's a soul-less android.
