This is the show I've been looking forward to most this season.
I don't think I could wait one more day if I didn't have college and other stuff to think about.

Break legs, guys and gals!
For all those attending, please, please, please, post all thoughts, comments and opinions on here 'cause seriously, I cannot wait to see this show! John Bucchino is SO deserving of having his work on the B'way stage - always thought so, and now, it's happening!
... Oh, and don't eat the rice!

Yay! I changed my flight so I could extend my NYC trip just long enough to see this. I'm going to the matinée Wednesday and then high-tailin' it to the airport after.
I'm really looking forward to the show!

With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-

Welcome, indeed!
I can't wait to hear everyone's reactions to this piece. I hope Faith Price, Harvey Fierstein, and John Doyle bring the amazing work that they traditionally do!

I saw the show in San Diego at the Old Globe. With a cast like this what could go wrong? Well, a few things did. I see many out of town tryouts, but this one was just dismal. There is no sense of fun on stage at all, neither in the music, the staging, nor the performances. The material, being so bland, has probably zapped the energy of the cast. Who wants to deliver bad material? John Doyle has done better work too.
I'll stop here and wait to hear what the NY Previews are like.............

With a cast of Faith Prince, Tom Wopat, Harvey Fierstein, Matt Cavenaugh, and Leslie Kritzer there is no such thing as a failure :) larry64, it should be noted that not every piece of musical theatre is supposed to be fun and hip. The art of a piece exists to give a message and to make people leave the theatre different from when they first entered. it makes people think and most importantly, feel! maybe you should have seen Cry-Baby instead if you wanted fun and awesome choreography instead of a wholesome and refreshing production.
break a leg tomorrow!!!

Hah, it's okay. I don't know, actually. I haven't checked in a really long time, but I've rarely been one to disclose. Too many!

Posted: 3/25/08 at 10:43amI too saw A Catered Affair in San Diego and agree with larry64. ACA was dismal and unpleasant. I went in without seeing the film. I saw the film on TCM a few months ago and enjoyed it very much. Hopefully, the musical will be turned into a better musical.
