so Rosario is on the cover of Alternative Press magazine. Someone posted the interview on LJ and I had to redirect one of the questions over to you guys, since I think it might spark old memories from this thread:
In our high school, there were kids in drama club who knew Rent by heart six months after its debut on Broadway, and they hadn't even seen the show. Is that intimidating for you, knowing you're going to be scrutinized by a fanbase of self-proclaimed Rentheads?
I mean, yeah. I would look online [on Rent fan sites] all the time [during filming], and it would be like, "What do you mean, Roger is not wearing his plaid pants?!" And it's like, yeah, but the song is still in there, and the essence of it is there. It's powerfully there. I'd hear people come online and be like, "You know, I just don't want people to change it, because it's something that's so personal for me, and now it's going to be all exploited and Hollywood and stupid." I get that. That's the reason I didn't want to watch [Rent] in the first place, because I couldn't imagine them getting it right; but I really think that we did the best we possibly could. I think people are going to be really, really happy with it.
I wonder if that comment about the pants actually came from reading this thread. Maybe...

Haha, it wasn't just us, there was a huge uproar everywhere about the loss of the Roger pants...
...I know it's not Anthony, but god this just made me laugh so hard.
Awesome job captioning these.

Really? What was he doing?
I wish I got that channel, but alas, I don't. *kicks Time Warner*
oh dont worry about it.. it was like a two second thing. He came on saying 'hi this is anthony rapp, your watching new now next on LOGO' or something like that, and I was like *gasp!*
who doesnt? :).
i've been in the best mood all day, all these RENT appearances are just making me soo happy<3.
Worrying about this movie is starting to make me physically ill. Seriously. The appearances actually aren't helping.
i'm not worried at all, i really do believe that this movie will be incredible..i dont think theres really anything that they could do at this point to make me not want to see this movie or love it.
Yeah. I've had to tell myself over and over not to let things bug me so much. I'm just gonna go with it, and I'm sure I'll love the movie no matter what.
Hah, if nothing else, I get to see Anthony all big on a movie screen. Honestly though, I'm sure we'll love it.
I know I'll love it...I just want other people to love it, and other people who don't know it might base their opinion on what the critics say.
the only thing i'm worried about it is everyone getting so famous from the movie..which i secretly hope doesn't happen (i know thats horrible). I want RENT to get good exposure, but i'm selfish and dont want to share the actors . I mean it's hard enough for me to meet them now, I don't want them to get all hollywood'ed out, does that make me a bad person?
atris- i know what you mean, if the movie does really well that means more people will want to see the broadway show, which will help keep it on broadway for more years..which is very good.

I want Rent to be on longer than Cats. That is my dream.
Urgh...I'm actually waiting for Emcee's aproval. I trust her. But she can't see the movie until tomorrow, so my suffering is prolonged! Aaah!
oh but you've come so far, you can wait one more day for her approval :)

Thanks, dearie.
I want Logo so bad, but I know if I even vaguely mentioned it to my mom she'd flip a lid.
I agree with the whole wanting RENT to have more exposure and the actors to have more exposures, but not wanting to share them at the same time(even though a rather massive fan base shares them already!).
Mainly what I don't want is people who will only like characters for their looks. The ones who will be like "LyKe OmG (insert name) IZ SO HOTT!!!!!!!1111!" (that was painful for me to type. Takes forever). You know, those fans who won't even look at the actor's talent or what kind of person they are.
thats the worst..and i really dont want that to happen.
theres this girl in my grade who after she found out i loved RENT was like oh my god i cant wait for it to come out, Idina Menzel is playing Maureen. And I was like yeah I know I can't wait, it's so amazing. And then she said "yea i dont really care about RENT i just want to see Idina" I almost punched her in the face. I guess thats kinda off topic, when I started I thought it wasnt oh well, but it still annoyed me very much.
Uhg, I would have punched her.
Oh well, if all the Idina fangirls go to the movie, it'll make a lot of money.

Grammar bitch descending... it's "would have," not "would of."
"Oh well, if all the Idina fangirls go to the movie, it'll make a lot of money."
thats very true..but i'm like a mother to rent, i want people to love it for the right reasons. Hopefully they will fall inlove with it and realize that *gasp* there are better shows then Wicked.

Ugh, there are so many Idina fangirls at my school I just wanna' slap them and my chorus teacher a bit 'cause he's the one who got a bunch of chorus girls into Wicked. But I can't slap my chorus teacher 'cause he actually looks like Anthony Rapp.
Really off-topic, but I was watching 'Whose Line is it Anyway?' on ABC family and I saw the RENT commercial after doing a double take.

I've seen the RENT commercial too much now. It's on every channel!
Damn, I want to slap him too. But if he looks like Anthony Rapp, I'll back off.
